Right now, Foobar2000.
I know how you guys say it's all the rage but seriously...
If it locks up explorer so bad upon minimizing to the system tray icons that you can't even open TASK MANAGER and you have to relog into your account........
I don't see how it's so great.
No, no skins or plugins are installed other then the ones that came with it.
So upon saying this, are there any other good music players that will minimize to your system tray icons WITHOUT nuking explorer?
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.
HP printer drivers
Internet Explorer and Windows Movie Maker/Windows Media Player

Windows 7 is better for sure, but Windows XP is almost perfectly stable. I'm pretty sure you had a bunch of crapware and shit that made your computer slow.
Anyhow, I installed the Norton demo back in say, 2005. This was before I knew about free antiviruses like Avast by the way. Upon restart, the computer sort of froze at the login screen. So I restarted it, same thing. Then I tried safe mode. SAME DAMN THING. So I decided to just let it sit there. 30 MINUTES LATER I could finally get to the desktop and it was SLIGHTLY usable. The hard drive is still thrashing. So I open up task manager, it turns out Norton is consuming almost all of my RAM (a whole 256 MB). The next hour or so I spent getting the uninstaller to open.
I eventually learned about Avast, and my computer was happy again.
Windows
Any windows released after XP.
Dell's printer drivers.
HP printer drivers
The most confusing and broken software I've had the displeasure of using.
Any windows released after XP.
idiots who still believe that XP is the only good OS out there because they rushed to fuck with vista the moment it was released, had bad experiences on probably outdated hardware, and are now so entrenched in the idea that "XP is better than the new shit" they pretend not to notice glaring flaws in XP, compatibility and security problems among other things, and blow relatively small problems with 7 way out of proportion. I'll bet that a lot of you have the mindset "well i'm used to it, so it must be better". That's fantastic, but please stop spreading your obnoxious bullshit across the internet. You're misinformed, and you're spreading that to other people. XP is being phased out for a reason, and you're promoting stagnation and incompetence with new software. You and your kind need to die out, and i mean that in the kindest way possible.

oops, thought this was that one "shit that pisses you off thread"
pretend this applies to XP, not the people who support it
Limewire.
Any windows released after XP.
Enjoy all of those rootkits that won't ever be fixed in XP
Also your using Windows 7
Pando Media Booster, I gave League of Legends a shot and it installed that shit.
"Myfreewebsearch". A while back, my sister was using this computer and decided to download some free similes! Ooh boy, free similes!
It ended up being a sort of "virus" that just set all the default search engines to it, made toolbars (back when she used internet explorer and nothing else), and generally appeared in a lot of random folders on the computer.
I just went on a search-and-destroy mission, and now that I mention it, I should probably check around the computer again to make sure it's gone.
I once had that smileycentral toolbar installed :suicide:

Luckily though, that computer was left to stagnate for 5 years in my bedroom, and a day after I formatted it and installed 7, the motherboard killed itself
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? :v:
Vista 1 day after it was first released.
ManyCam

Why would you use an OS that is one day old...
Quicktime
Norton (doesn't detect most viruses from my experience)
iTunes (Never used, but it was there suddenly)
Adobe Reader (update manager which I couldn't even remove from the startup)
Gamespy arcade (Installs even if you check DON'T install)
Punkbuster
Yahoo/Aim
Windows Live Essentials /Msn

Looking through start-up processes, it's still there. Shit.
Edit: Found it. Search and destroy time!
(It's not just that folder with the links, it's also some stuff in previous folders.)
Vista 1 day after it was first released.
I have a computer that has had Vista installed since pre-beta (legitimately). Not even one OS issue.
ZoneAlarm, back when my father used to dictate the computer when I was younger. I swear, if you were typing ANYTHING, it'd automatically deny any process that tried to access the internet if you pressed the goddamn spacebar. Not only that, but the only way to allow the process again is to restart your computer.
Worst program in forever, never buy never.

You had 256 MB
in 2005
I bought a PC in 2004 or 2003 with 512 MB
What was it like?
I had BonziBuddy back when I still used Windows 98..
Strange days.

Acer aspire 5100 laptop with a free vista upgrade. Not one piece of microsoft software worked well with it. WLM crashed constantly, WMP did the same, and explorer hung every 5 minutes.
I like to pretend that Vista never existed.

I smell a metric ton of bloatware
Citrix, FUCK citrix
I smell a metric ton of bloatware
It was just a normal windows disk, no acer crapware at all.
[editline]7th October 2011[/editline]
I did format the hard drive too.

What was it like?
It was a budget PC from around 2002. And also, awful. I would open task manager and close tons of background programs so I could run Blockland at a bearable framerate. Didn't help that it had integrated graphics and was a Tualatin Celeron processor. You have no idea what a breath of fresh air it was to get a computer with a Core 2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM in 2006.
THE INTERNET WENT SO FAST. You could open tabs without crippling it! And you could have Firefox and Word open. AT THE SAME TIME!!!
Windows Blinds.
My XP was never the same.
I had to reformat because I was young and foolish.
Also NO iTUNES I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR UPDATE JUST PUT THE SONG ON THE PHONE!
