the hyper 212+ is in the current generation of the build... Get with the program. Any substitutions guys???
What?
What?
I'm asking if anyone has any recommendations to change the build I have posted above in the images, or to recommend their own build in lieu thereof
EVGA or ASUS motherboard and replace the CPU cooler with the Xigmatek S1283.
Mobo is Asus... Or do you mean normal Asus and not ROG? And Do I need the bracket kit for it? It looks like It doesnt support 1156 out of the box...
Has anyone brought up the fact that it is a Plasma??? I have skimmed through the thread, but haven't read intently.
Plasma isn't that great for a computer, if that is what you are using it for.
LCD is better over plasma in terms of computer display in my opinon, and plasma has a problem with images being burned in if it is static (such as a desktop or a hud from a game that doesn't move). They have gotten a lot better over the years.
But for a computer monitor I would choose LCD over Plasma.
I suggest going with the 850w PSU. You have a lot of stuff going on in there, and you say you might crossfire the 5870? If you do you definitely want the 850w PSU with all the stuff in the build right now. It's only $40 more.

Also, you don't need 8GB of RAM, And if you really do someday, you can always buy it then and it won't effect anything in your build as far as reformatting, or installing drivers etc. So, say you cut 4GB of RAM out and you have a little headroom for the much better PSU that will handle your setup with another 5970 later on, the extra 5970 will give you a bigger performance boost than that RAM will too.

Yes... As a matter of fact... It was in the OP, And at least 3 different additional posts... I have a plasma screen, I cannot buy a new one.
People are responding without reading jack shit....
Honestly... I just found out that the Megahalem is finally being sold on Newegg... So I might just go with that and a fan or two

you have a 2.5k budget, I'm sure you can edit out one of the 2 or 3 necessary SSDs and fit in a 1920x1200 or 2048 x 1152 monitor somewhere, seeing as it would take nowhere near 2.5k to max them

This is the last time I'm gonna say this... This is a gaming Pc FOR A 50" PLASMA SCREEN TV! 1080p!
Thank you, any further "OMFG Plasma sux" can be expressed by disagrees on this post... Thank you...
you said you "cannot buy a new one"
unless you don't have a single flat surface in your house and don't have a few inches of wall clear to wallmount one, there is no reason you "cannot"
[editline]04:04AM[/editline]
seeing as you won't listen to facts and reason, I look forward to the thread where you ask how you can get rid of the HUD burned into your screen

Did you read the thread? I tested the screen, I discussed the reasons I am using a 50", and I have told the congregated audience here multiple times that I don't want to get a monitor, I want to use my 50", 6-12 months from now, I won't be asking about burn in, I will be asking about my own personal rig that I intend to purchase with a trio of monitors... You may then recommend me a monitor for Ifinity
On the topic of burn in... I've done my research on it, It won't be a problem if I actually use this thing properly... Burn in occurs when people leave their 50" on with the damn windows desktop up without a screen saver... Not because someone plays games on it...
If HUD's burn in so bad... Then why haven't I heard so many 13 year old Halo 3 "Pros" complaining about their x-boxes ruining their tv's?

You really need to specify what you're talking about.

I am asking if you mean that I should go for plain ASUS motherboards or is it alright that I am getting the Republic of gamers' model. And my second question was if the cooler you recommended would work out of the box with the 1156 socket, as I don't see it saying it has the brackets for it...

The S1283 requires brackets. Get the Crossbow retention bracket, and the RoG motherboards are pretty much the same, it's just a label. The Maximus III is great.

Bullshit, they finally sold it on NewEgg and I got mine for 5 dollars more + shipping. This is some crap. :(
Please point out the parts I should replace in this build, especially if the combo deals are bad
The only one I was iffy about was the 650hx... I was originally going for the 850hx... But do you have better recommendations?
Swap out the ram with the ones posted earlier, the corsair ones. Swap out the PSU aswell, as rather have too much than on the edge.
Don't use a plasma for a computer monitor. I own a plasma, and it does burn in easily with a still image. Even with anti burn in tech it still can; the tech's not made to deal with a static image for a long time, like a desktop or a health bar. It even says in my tv's manual not to display a static image for a long time.
The precursor to burn-in is ghosting, which in plasma terms is a noticeable brightness difference in different areas of the screen. It can be removed with a special pattern the tv has if it's not that bad. The burn-in I experienced was ghosting from watching tv in 4:3 mode from basic cable over a few days. I do not recommend a plasma for a computer monitor. Spend some of your money on an lcd or multiple lcds.

We stated that 1½ thread ago, and he said it'd be fine.
Sir... I plan on turning the windows desktop into a barren wasteland... The games I will play will all be sized to cover the screen, and the tv will still be used for "TV' Tv, I don't think I'll have any problems... Consider me warned... for the 4th time

(Snip for extra research)
I should be able to run the Megahalem south to north, It probably would be better for the case anyways... Considering it's got better fans going up...
Yep... It will work even with the dominator fans... Awesome
