I didn't have time to Google it. I'm getting ready to jump in the shower. [editline]09:35PM[/editline]
ok. I got a 512mb 4670 for $45 and it's a good card for the price. but mine is starting to struggle so I may get a GTS 250 1gb from a friend for $50.
Double post?
Yeah it is on newegg they are about 110 dollars so go for it. I bought one and i love it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143118 Also an option when it comes back in stock.
Whoever game him boxes for this needs to die. Go on now, shoo.

Lollers
GTS 250 is better than the 8800gt because it is a 9800GTX. GTS 250 = 9800GTX
GPU, yes, CPU, no. When I had the E7200, my framerates would drop below 30 with a GTX 260.
On one of my systems, I can hold a solid 28 FPS in Garry's Mod with a Pentium IV @ 2.6 GHz and an 8400 GS, all running in Wine. Source games take nothing to run.
I thought we concluded that a 250 gts was a 9800gtx +??
I thought we concluded that a 250 gts was a 9800gtx +??
250 is also supposed to use less power then the 9800.
Similar to that price range, I would recommend an HD 4770. It runs cooler and on less power then a 4850, performs on par with it and a 9800 GTX, and overclocks/Crossfire's like a dream. I find it a good budget upgrade card due to low power demands and running cool. (Mine idles right now in my mATX Coolermaster case at 40 Degree's Celsius) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150369&cm_re=HD_4770-_-14-150-369-_-Product With Mail in Rebate it's 90 Bucks. A 40nm version of your 4850 for 5 bucks more. Plus it's xfx, and who doesn't love that warranty?
performs considerably worse than a 4850, not even close to on-par, and you can still just overclock the 4850 more
All of the tests I have seen confirm that it is within 5% of the 4850's performance. Many more will agree that the 4770 overclocks better, and has more potential then the hotter 4850. As a comparison, the slight loss in fps is made up by the temperature and headroom of the 4770. How is 5% not even close to on-par?
key word: 8400 GS
I'm saying it all runs fine. Source games take literally nothing to run.

Stop relating temperature to inability to overclock. [editline]03:08PM[/editline]
I'm saying it all runs fine.
that's a massive bottleneck buttsex, by the way
It was a dell I got for free, it had intel extreme graphics before. This was the cheapest PCI card at the time.
and I'm just saying, 8400 GS. It's way better than anything from the pentium 4's era
lol if you consider 28 FPS fine on flatgrass with everything on minimum
28 FPS was construct maxed out at 1600x1200, but nice try.
oh my fucking god
What's that now?
I have a 4850 too, it runs pretty much everything. Don't worry about bottlenecking your gpu, I have a E5200 and there is no problem at all!
I say get it then buy a new cpu later, a bottleneck wont hurt your current fps.
