• Is Gateway a good company?

My freshman year roommate was so amazed that I built my own computer. If their was a course in plugging things into the wall, PC building would be the 200 level course of that. Gateway actually started near my hometown, a lot of people I know got rich working for them but then eventually all their manufacturing has been outsourced and there aren't many jobs left there. The manufacturing building is still there I think they only have a call center there now. The building has cow-spots painted all over it, pretty neat. I went to high school with the old CEO's sisters daughter whose step-father was my music instructor and threw my chair once. :(
And you guys are telling him to make a build.
Were telling him to build his own PC, just the physical side of putting the shit together. We'll choose the right parts.
I have a gateway computer here. The only time I will ever buy pre-builts is when they are refurbished and at a good price. Our family computer is a Gateway and it's been running strong for 3 years. It still runs incredibly fast. I'm really pleased with them. Would I buy them new? No. Refurbished? For a good price, sure.
