Okay, what the fuck?
I haven't used my desktop in a few days due to being sick. I turned it on, did a couple of things, then turned it off like normal.
I then went to turn off the surge protector it was plugged into (the computer was off by this point) and turning it off tripped the mains of the house.
First of all, how the hell does that actually work? Second, is it a problem with the surge protector or the computer?
EDIT:
There's only one way to get a good answer, so here it goes:

Apologies for my tardiness, I didn't leave work until 5:00. AM. I think I may legally qualify as a [del]zombie[/del]undead-american now.
From your description, that's definitely not a problem with the computer. Most likely your surge protector shorted out, maybe even only for a second as you turned it off. Either that, or it was just a coincidence, something else causing the circuit breaker to trip at just the same time.
Anyways, circuit breakers are relatively simple. You have a spring holding the circuit in place, and a solenoid pushing against it. When the current gets high enough, the solenoid overpowers the spring and disconnects the circuit. That's the Cliff Notes version - there's a lot more involved, especially for breakers that handle over a kilovolt or things like autoreclosers, but that's the general principle.
The surge protector might work that way, but it might use a fuse instead (and just a regular switch to turn it off). In that case, the breaking of the circuit is caused by the wire melting, so it can only break once.

Launching fireworks from a distance is for pussies.
Let's talk about an unstable custom-made firework what is held together with duct tape and built from cheap fireworks, and forgetting that the ignition thing should be a little bigger than 3mm out of the shell.
how unstable? Sparks out in every direction, going in a random direction each time, moving 5m in the direction it chose, changing it on the fly. Let's now combine it with a hot fire-flash thing.
total cost? 1.60€, a lil bit of duct tape, 5 minutes and you are good to go.
I wish I could get better (bigger) fireworks by myself. I have to get my sis or grandpa or somebody to buy me some :v: I can't wonder what me and my friends can think out of combining all that shit.
I'm gonna upgrade my stereo but I don't know whether I should get a new amp or a new set of speakers :c
I'm thinking I'm gonna upgrade the amp because my current 2x40W is pretty far from being able to max my speakers.
that's the cat's spot now
best accept it and move on
Sit on top of the cat

I suppose my english-comprehension skills (yes, I'm pulling that card) do no suffice for this kind of Wikipedia reading. I will retract my statement about thermal radiation having wavelengths proportional to temperature. It didn't make much sense to me, but it was what I could gather.

Try the Simple English version maybe?
I know it's designed for people who barely understand third grade english but I'm a native speaker and I find the simple English version more informative than the main English version sometimes.

However, is there a easy way of scanning barcodes on an android device and flinging them over to a PC? I'm currently using this but the server software keeps freezing up and not accepting barcodes meaning I have to return to my PC and reset it every now and then, slowing the process up

I want to see a virus that was distributed as part of a torrent, that uploaded the infected machine's hosts file somewhere public.
If you made statistics out of all the hosts-files, most of them would probably have a bunch of Adobe activation domains pointed to localhost.

Temperature is proportional to frequency, not wavelength. It's inversely proportional to wavelength. Higher temp = more energy = higher frequency = shorter wavelength = bluer end of the spectrum.

I did have a rather large cannon shell tip over after It was lit and aim directly into the adjacent dog kennel, the shell actually fired through the fence, through the doggy door and into the dog house where my dog at the time was already cowering from the fireworks. It was both hilarious, scary and sad all at the same time. The dog only had minor fur burns and a big case of the jitters.
