Fun Fact: it's not the best idea to set your page file to 64GB.

I don't really see the use in a big pagefile unless you only have 256MB of ram or something [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Or trying to run windows on a C64
I needed 64GB of RAM but didn't have it. So I made it.
Why the hell did you need 64GB RAM?
Why the hell did you need 64GB RAM?
Rendering of incredibly large mandelbrots.
Oh god, my keyboard has more hair than some guys balls. Where the fuck did all of this get here? I mean, it is ~1 year old and my cat loves to sit on my lap. I have a low amount of other shit here, but a lot of hair. Makes no sense to me.
Apparently GIMP does not support 16-bit Tiffs, submitted my work and got a 0 for it because "it was empty". Check it out, arts teacher opens it - Not supported bit depth: 16. could someone convert it to 8bit if I post it here
I needed 64GB of RAM but didn't have it.
I downloaded mine [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] I'll help, but only if you tell me why your teacher is using gimp in the first place
what should he use then? also nice having you here
I had CS1 on my MacBook :v: rip macbook
I wish our college would use GIMP, the cheap fucks only have Photoshop CS2 on most of the computers and it sucks ass.
"Cheap fucks" gimp is free
gimp is also gimped
what should he use then? also nice having you here
gimp is fine for what it does and amazing for not having a huge price tacked onto it. But if you're teaching people, photoshop is better for the sake of using an industry standard that they'll most likely use upon getting a job later on, and because it doesn't end up having dumb incompatibility issues if someone used PS or illustrator and has to open the file on a school computer like what's happening now
I downloaded mine [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] I'll help, but only if you tell me why your teacher is using gimp in the first place
The school can't even afford copy paper, do you think they'd pay for Photoshop? Besides, it was homework and doing it on a computer was optional. [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] The fact that Gimp still doesn't support higher than 8 bit colour depth really fucks with my mind.
The school can't even afford copy paper, do you think they'd pay for Photoshop? Besides, it was homework and doing it on a computer was optional.
I gotcha. Any reason you were saving out a huge TIF?
Photoshop did not offer me exporting as a PNG as an option. The picture had a huge-ass resolution though.
It still doesn't mean you should export it as a TIF.
for future reference if anyone likes, kinda related. this is like the bible of filetype stuffs [t]http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/070/0/b/0b4736b553889b593839d8dd801b03ed.png[/t]
It still doesn't mean you should export it as a TIF.
Didn't have many choices.
You are probably using CMYK.
Didn't have many choices.
ah, that narrowed it down it's because you're in 32bits/channel mode, wholly unnecessary for most things. moving to 16 will give you your options back, though I don't think anyone will notice if you're using 8 unless you're doing excessively large, high quality prints or making graphical elements that need to be absolutely perfect for reproduction when presented on a screen. so today it's been a pretty normal day besides the fact that I woke up to two pages of definitely not computers
can't take it seriously so many spelling errors
uh
Damn Guild Wars 2 takes a while to download.
uh
it's terrible english and extremely overworded "other file formats such as the bmp and gif are common to find in many situations, however.." should be "other file formats such as the bmp and gif are commonly found in many situations," or better yet, get rid of the redundant redundant part "other file formats such as the bmp and gif are commonly found," there's also apostrophes used to indicate plural, not to mention some details are just plain wrong.. i guess it's still kinda helpful for people who don't know how to computer though
even for FP that's some unreasonably high-octane grammar fascism and terrible reasoning for not paying attention to the technical knowledge it's presenting
"the bmp and gif" is the most wrong part about that sentence and you ignore it altogether
