Still cataloguing all my games (archived and newer), here's where I'm up to so far: http://duck.me.uk/collection/
it's like a huge nostalgia trip through my childhood

No original PlayStation?
Man, you have a lot to catch up on.
man if I had to catalogue my games it'd be like
-60-in-1 genesis cart
-Tony Hawk's Underground 2 3-CD retail (I'm really proud of this purchase)
-Steam account

Yeah, no PS1, PS2, Dreamcast (looking into this maybe next), or anything older than the N64 (unless you count a ZX spectrum 64k as a gaming machine) as I was brought up as a nintendo kid. I do have a Xbox (not yet listed) and 3 Gamecubes though which I feel go some way towards making up for it

Oh god. I had that once. I think you need to reinstall the plugin.

Blame Windows 8.

Did you feed it after midnight?
Tempted to buy a Corsair H100i to replace my H100. Now I know that sounds silly but here's why.
I would by a high end air cooler but I don't have the space in this mini-ITX case. My current one has air in the loop and makes dubstep and the pipes on the new one look a hell of a lot better as they will be able to have a bit more movement because the current ones are pretty twisted (but not kinked) and in an awkward way.
Unless there is some magical tiny air cooler that works wonders I don't know about!
Also I need a new thermal compound, I thought it'd give it a go using this brandnew liquid metal one but it isn't that amazing after all. I guess it's back to MX-5!!
Is it normal for the batteries in a mouse to explode and still work?
Seriously, about 5 minutes ago I heard a loud pop and felt my mouse jump up a bit. I looked inside and saw a whole bunch of acid on the battery cover. I seriously don't believe what just happened right now. :v:

you should really consider to stop using that mouse

I'd stop using it latin_geek, but I don't have a spare/replacement.
"I better put my hand on this thing that exploded and is holding battery acid".

If you don't stop using it and clean off the battery acid, the contacts and/or the PCB will get corroded. New batteries will be cheaper than a new mouse.
Just bought a new mouse.
As a lot of you know I was born with a mild form of Cerebral Palsy that only effects my right side. I was technically SUPPOSED to be a righty, as I am left brained, but my body has been forced to learn to be a lefty. As such I have always had an issue finding a mouse that fit my needs. I had bought the Razer Deathadder lefty edition originally and for the ~18 months it has been in use it has fit my needs perfectly. However, with the release of Razer Synapse 2.0 I refuse to ever use another Razer product in my home. DRM on a game is one thing. On a mouse, however, is bullshit.
I decided on the Logitech G300. It's ambidextrous, has 9 total buttons, and is a bit smaller than my Deathadder. It's everything I want in a mouse, for about $30 on Amazon, $41 if you include shipping and any taxes to my house. It's Logitech's entry level gaming mouse, but the only other decent gaming mouse I've been able to find for my needs. I'll see how it is and post a review of it here.
So I can pop in another 4GB stick and a much faster 500GB hard drive on my laptop. Size would not increase but speed would be noticeably better with the dual channel RAM and faster HDD. $70 total for the "upgrade." You guys think it's worth it?
If you've got the $70 to spare I don't see why not
If you've got the $70 to spare I don't see why not
I do. The only issue is I'm not sure I use my laptop enough to warrant it. But it'd be nice to get rid of my 10 minute League of Legends loading times.

clean away the acid with a little vinegar or lemon juice on a q-tip. Do it over a sink and hold it in a way that it doesn't get more stuff into the mouse, this will neutralize it and basically separate into water and salt

I'm a lefty and have the g300 too, it's the best thing ever
I naturally grip righty-ergonomic mice all weird since they've been so prevalent at schools and work and such, and can't get used to the few left-ergo equivalents, I think the g300 allows me to be comfortable AND still be able to claw-grip it
I'd do it, dual channel RAM sped up my thinkpad a fair bit, its just the ancient hard drive holding it back now.
I'll buy a new one as soon as my client pays up.
Client, eh?
Yeah I just pulled the trigger on it. I dunno how I'll transfer the hard drive over (they're the same size but I'm not using more than 150GB) but it'll be the speed boost my laptop needs.
It's still a little on the slow side what with a 1.4GHz quad core but I use it for gaming and schoolwork anyway and I'll see an improvements in both areas so worth it.

Oh, I think my dad has an external USB sata enclosure. I can just pull up my disk of Acronis.
If you have integrated graphics, which I assume you do because it's a laptop, get the fastest RAM you can afford.
Aren't all graphics "integrated" on laptops? even high-end videocards and stuff.
Aren't all graphics "integrated" on laptops? even high-end videocards and stuff.
Depends on how you define "integrated".
Some GPUs are integrated onto the CPU. That's about as tightly integrated as you can get without just rendering everything in software on the CPU.
Some GPUs are integrated onto the northbridge, or some other component. These tend to be just as weak as CPU-integrated ones.
Some GPUs are integrated onto the motherboard, but are kept separate from all other chips. These can be almost as powerful as the higher-end fully-discrete cards, held back only by being hard to remove heat from. From a performance standpoint, I wouldn't call these "integrated", but I would from an upgradeability standpoint.
Others are put on discrete cards. Even in laptops - look up MXM cards. These tend to be the highest-end ones, naturally.

Nah, it has a dedicated card on top of the APU graphics. This thing absolutely destroys games.
