So skype support is trying to tell me that "Pending" means "Failed"
At least Skype actually runs on your computer
recent versions have decided it needs to use some IE component for something, which results in said component taking 100% of my CPU and forcing me to hit reset (removing the startup entry after that was a fun experience), or in the case of this particular Windows install, being pretty much dead weight on my hard drive because Internet Explorer flat out doesn't work (crashes on startup)
the Linux builds don't have these problems wtf are the Win32 team doing

Merging it in with Windows Live Messenger. Which sucks dicks.
What's a good alternative for VoIP? Preferably for Windows and Android.

not a quick question it's relevant to the current topic ok

Google Talk?
Just ordered an x131e with 8GB RAM, Windows 7 Pro. AMD Fusion though, did I do good?
Isn't the Linux client absolutely horrific? The last time I used it, it was an ugly pile of crap.
I used it when ti first hit Ubuntu. Aside from dropping the mic input on long calls it seemed fine.

I like Mumble, though you need to host your own server / use someone's. If you can host your own mumble server, the voice quality is excellent and the applications are lightweight.
I needed to check something something in Speccy and remembered I didn't have it installed.
So I downloaded it, installed it, and ran it, got some errors and remembered what operating system I was in.
Sigh.
so I'm upgrading this PC and open it up to see if there's anything I can scavenge (spoilers it's 256mb ddr1, 40gb hard drive)

what the fuck
why

Wow, how someone manages to fuck something so simple up is beyond me.
If you heated it just right, maybe it would cause some sort of weld-type thing that actually did something.
So CenturyLink is installing fiber at my school. Hope its better than the usual 1.2mbps that we get now.

What's the problem? Is it supposed to be 386 or is it just that it's really old?
I wonder what a computer would do if you decided to solder some of the FSB traces together while the PC is on.
clean away the acid with a little vinegar or lemon juice on a q-tip. Do it over a sink and hold it in a way that it doesn't get more stuff into the mouse, this will neutralize it and basically separate into water and salt
I thought battery "acid" was a misnomer and most disposable batteries were alkaline?
So this is great. I installed something yesterday, it had a toolbar, I said I didn't agree to the terms of service. lolinstalledanyway.
Great. Trying to find how to remove it. Apparently, it's like norton, REMOVING IT CAN DESTROY YOUR INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS.
Great, so I'll just disable it from Firefox and IE. Easy, right? Oh yeah, it's a seperate program that sits ontop of FF or IE not actually integrated in.
brb killing self.

Aha! CCleaner catches it. FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT.
[editline]17th November 2012[/editline]
Ok good. Windows restarted fine and everything is back to normal.
That was absolutely fucking bullshit.
Java updates are a huge pain in the ass.

I've had a ton of trouble with mumbles sound quality getting royally messed up on some installations for no reason that I've ever been able to determine.
I've used TS3, and vent too. I generally prefer TS3 because I like the permissions system, which is convoluted as all hell, but exceedingly powerful. There are some features that the devs refuse to implement like automove on idle though.

I wont install Java outside of a VM for personal use. I hate it with a passion.
I thought battery "acid" was a misnomer and most disposable batteries were alkaline?
Yup. Alkaline paste, unless you get those fancy Energizer lithiums. Alkaline can be just as dangerous as acid (they both have a non neutral pH), but the fact that it's a paste makes it less harmful than a liquid.
Hey guys so this is a thing: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3F5S0O/ref=oh_d__o00_details_o00__i00 $110 off six games
However, I happen to have an extra Metro 2033 key now. Whoever gets the 4250th post in the thread gets the key to it.
