My dad is going to USA for two weeks. What stuff should I ask him to buy when he's there?
Any bit of tech you want :v: I've heard it's mega cheap out there compared to sunny old UK here.
Hey BRT, why not try and attempt a petapixel BRT.png? It'll be a nice stress test for your new hardware :v: MERGE
I prefer to call it the Teracrest test.
Any bit of tech you want :v: I've heard it's mega cheap out there compared to sunny old UK here.
Gee I know that. asked him to buy home a 670 but it seems most ones are sold with ACIII and BL2, he won't be there when the release is though so I'd have to settle with a 670. Question- There are two 670's with the same name, but 50€ difference in price here in Sweden. What's the difference? Also I asked him to buy a ModMic+HTF 600 and a Razer Deathadder. Obviously I won't get it all, but I hope for it :v:
The Google market and the whole Android are just a fake. Too bad there are few people still buying apps on Android and too many buying Android hardware. Competitors? Where are the competitors? Google and Microsoft are just a big joke. Their managers only think about the best way to make a fool of customers. Apple is not perfect but it's the best one available and it will remain like that for a very long time given how lazy these fake competitors employees and managers are and just don't care.
This post wins 5 out of 5 apples on the fanboyism scale. [editline]18th November 2012[/editline] Also I wonder what he meant by "fake"? Did he say that Android doesn't exist?

I love those guys, they seem so fun to be around.
-
Painful to watch, ugh.
Painful to watch, ugh.
They might not know as much as some of us about what they're doing, but they're still having fun.. what's the problem?
And at least they know that there's stuff they don't know, which they also joke about
"How do you know this?" "The person on the internet..." At least they admit it.

"After that we can hone in on the maximum voltage we can get..." Fucking shoot me in the face, right now.
So I was scrolling through my documents, looking for stuff I can delete to free up some space. I found some in a very unlikely spot - my PuTTY logs. For business reasons (read: cover-my-ass purposes), I have PuTTY keep a simple text log of what I do when I SSH into the company servers. One day's logs was over 40MB. That's forty megabytes of plain ASCII text. In one day. Most of the daily logs were smaller, a few dozen KB, but there were several multi-megabyte files. Naturally, I had to see what it was. It was mostly some WHERE-less SELECT statements on some very large SQL tables (this was before I started using MySQL Workbench, when I was using the command-line MySQL client), combined with a Java load-testing tool that outputs a lot of text to look pretty for the execs (clearing the screen to do ASCII art shows up as enough newlines to scroll the page). The good news? Plain text compresses exceptionally well. I compressed four full months of logs down to 2MB.
Apparently accomplished this overnight...
I had a winter LAN a few years ago, one friend's computer had terrible cooling issues so we took the side panel off and put it outside, running the cables indoors. His GPU hit 0 C while idle. Oh Michigan Decembers.
Apparently accomplished this overnight...
I wonder if there's a point where a computer becomes "under-heated" and the performance suffers. Christ.
