That wouldn't work well, unless it would be red or something like that.
Because if both have big titles, it will just confuse us more.
If you find one on buy it now, it will be hilariously expensive.
£120-£150. It's a bargain for a college student. Substitute for my MSI and Thinkpad if I want to take it into the campus. I can't afford my MSI getting nicked.

Why not find a t61 with the intel GMA chip and then find a board with the nVidia chip on.
What are you thinking you are looking for?
I was looking for a 2.1 setup for around £350. I currently have a 2.1 Samsung cinema system.

I'll end up paying literally DOUBLE. it isn't exactly worth it.

Oh Fuck theres a T61p with a 1920x1200 display

The fact that somebody must have gone out of their way to do that is the most mind-boggling about it.

I believe it simply says "I AM NOT PROCOTOL7"
How about we get Protocol7 a huge "Protocol7" title and so on
did it never occur to any of you that you could simply ask one of us to change our avatar

$500 for a 1366x768 device that doesn't come with the keyboard cover. I know it's 32GB but come on, early adopters aren't going to have the app support of the iPad or even Android tablets, they'll have to pay $100 for something that sets it apart from other tablets and should be included in the damn box or at least inexpensive, and it's not like Microsoft has to pay for OS licencing like other Windows tablet makers will.

What's wrong with the resolution? That's perfectly fine for a 10.6 inch device. And the 16GB iPad is also $500.
The thing is that Tablets are to expensive when you can get a pc or laptop for the same price that run better.

The iPad is 2048x1536 and has Apple's tablet apps already there for the buyer to consume. Apart from that, I'm just looking at the Asus TF700T and wondering exactly why this Surface tablet is worth the same amount of money when it runs at a substantially lower resolution and can't even justify the price through claims of needing to pay for the OS. Maybe the SoC is something special? Or hell, if I've missed some really important feature that's why it costs so much for what you get please let me know.

The iPad only has a usable resolution of 1024x768 (and I know how you operate, dpi isn't as important to people who don't give a shit about dpi. I don't sit down at my 1080p monitor at home and care what dpi it is.) The TF700T runs Android, which I immediately dislike for that reason. I don't want the iPad because iOS is a much better phone OS than it is a tablet OS, and for the price the Surface has more features like a fullsize USB port and it's designed to be used with a Smart Cover-esque keyboard, which I absolutely love.
About the only thing the TF700T has over it is a higher resolution screen.

That's exactly it. If you threw Windows RT on an Asus TF700T it'd be the same with a better screen, and it even would have a keyboard dock that actually has its own battery to supplement the one in the tablet itself. Now obviously there won't be any Asus TF700T's that run Windows RT, but from a pure hardware standpoint I don't know where the justification is for throwing on a 1366x768 panel. Yes, it may be sufficient to almost every consumer, especially with Cleartype, but it's not going to help their marketing and it makes me feel like I'm getting less for my money. But hey I own an iPad so I'm not the best person to be talking about getting what's best for your money.
I get that.
I just don't like Android in general as every one of my experiences with it has been less than desirable. And believe me, I want to like Android, I really do, I just can't. My Touchpad is a royal piece of shit, made with a crappy plastic body and a touchscreen that's bulging at the seams, littered with dust and shit under the glass.
IDK, I'm putting a lot of faith into Microsoft because I feel like Surface has a chance, unlike ye olde Zune or WP7 whom were both way too late to the party.

Haha, I'm not telling people to go buy an Asus Transformer, it was just the closest hardware comparison I could find. Also I was ignorant with my comparison since we don't know anything about RAM. It might be shipping with 2GB or something which could be something to make me feel better about the price. I just don't know about the normal Surface. I'm actually thinking of buying it, but if I wanted a tablet that could really do something but I'd probably just buy the Surface Pro or an Ultrabook with a detachable screen assuming something like that ever gets produced.
I got a YT message from this girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk2oNwPOWto&feature=plcp
Asking about my ZR30w monitor and she was thinking of getting it. I should have mentioned the price and just all involved with something like this.

As for the ghost keys, I'll see what my guys want to do with them. If none of them wants it. cough cough, wingar, then I guess I could do a drawing.
EDIT: Who cares what wingar thinks, he just said I sounded like Christopher Mintz
If you're gonna start giving them away, I did ask first
We actually know plenty about the specs.

Should mention this is straight from their site :v:
There you go, 2GB of RAM. Hopefully the Tegra T30 doesn't have much of a performance drop from its 200MHz faster sibling. But if Windows RT uses hardware as efficiently as Windows Phone 7.5 to run the interface I'm not worried at all about the performance.

I was gunna ask since I read yesterday that it was posted and pulled so I wouldn't have bothered checking.
Tablets are luxury items, I think the Surface will be very nicely built, which is why it's so 'expensive'.
I'll save up for one if it turns out to be awesome.
