Wow, I'm trying to find a Russian language pack for an app I need, and instead I just keep finding billions and billions of cracked pirate versions. Oh Russia.

Check 4pda.ru/forum, if anyone has a translation it is probably them
[sp]It's also the biggest android warez website but let's not talk about that[/sp]
well that 'app' is office 2013, so it probably wouldn't be there :suicide:

Oh
For some reason I was thinking this is the android thread
I just remembered a wonderful feature in Windows 7 that will let me test Windows 8 without risking any messups:
Boot to VHD
All I have to do is create a VHD, I can install Win8 to it, and it's all contained. Just like Ubuntu's install in Windows option.
Oh, and in case anyone else would like to do this: http://blogs.technet.com/b/haroldwong/archive/2012/08/18/how-to-create-windows-8-vhd-for-boot-to-vhd-using-simple-easy-to-follow-steps.aspx
Keep in mind, you have to be running Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise to use this.
Oh, hey, cool, YouTube really improved their seeking. You get thumbnails, and a zoomed-in seek bar for long videos.
Just had to throw out an old computer that I've had for 10 years because I couldn't justify having it anymore.
Also, have you ever heard a computer essentially scream at you? I did, after I accidentally unplugged my graphics card while the machine was on. Scared the fuck out of me, but it's still working, though the other computer I was moving a hard disk to isn't, and that's pissing the fuck out of me.

Didnt that happen quite a while ago

The thumbnail thing at least, not sure about the zoomed seek bar

It's the same thing with Winnipeg, only exception is construction season.

I think zoomed seek bar was at the same time as the thumbnails.

I'm not going to join the Max hate bandwagon but that's a little bullshit, I don't think CIPWTTKT really needs moderation, we've always been pretty good at self moderating, and seriously who gives a shit?

Also, if someone is going to actually moderate H&S, shouldn't it be one of us who has been here forever and is a well respected poster, like brt?
Section-specific moderators aren't really a thing anymore.
cosmic duck is still (somewhat) active.

or me or wingless or...
actually I remember we had a nice conversation on who'd be good for the job two or three threads back until postal (i think, or maybe VNL) came along and said we were all grounded
I'll do it. If I get paid in beer.

SON OF A BITCH
i wrote it in Python 3 and py2exe doesn't support Python 3
FUCK, now I have to port it
They weren't even image macros.
They were a bunch of reaction .gifs, which would be classified as macros.
It wouldn't surprise me if Max just has Brett on a shit list of people to check posts of everyday.
alright guys that's enough of that in here
take it to AUATF

Today was not very interesting. I fixed a USB hub with my mad soldering skills (I needed it working and all I had around was a big fucking pipe soldering iron and fluxless solder, the result isn't pretty)
Looking forward to christmas/my birthday/vacation so I can get money for new PC hardware, and maybe a proper soldering station or a PS2

Oh hey thefuckingweather is finally working again, it wasn't returning any results for my town for the last couple weeks or so.
If you live in the Seattle/Kirkland area or you're visiting the area, I recommend hitting up RE-PC over in the Sodo district. It's essentially one massive fucking warehouse dedicated to used computer parts and accessories.

Totally a place to waste an afternoon and all your money.
Woa, that is pretty sweet
I'll try to visit that next time I am in seattle
i should probably drop in there and see if they have parts for sticking a hard drive in my PS2
and how much that would cost

I live in WA and had no idea we had a cool PC recycler nearby
[editline]2nd December 2012[/editline]
are the prices fair?
Oh god, so my friend browses the forum for a game called Blockland, and he found this.

speaking of me putting hard drives in a PS2
i was looking up guides for doing that and it's apparently way easier than i thought
cool

The pictured CRT projector was $100 with the manual and remote but their pries are awesome. I bought a PIII mobile tablet with good battery for $20. They got lots of prebuilts too for good prices. The seattle one is a very reasonable place. The kirkland one however is a bit more hit and miss. Stuff like this cassette tape drive was $5 but a CRT twinax terminal was $35.
