so im trying to install cm10 on my galaxy note 1 but CWM is telling me: assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGH-I717" and several other assert failed errors after that what is wrong? why could i install CM9 just fine months ago but not CM10? i already tried updating CWM to the latest but that didnt work
do you have the att version
i highly doubt i need a modded CWM so i guess i can just do that whatever that is
Okay then I'm lying to you......
do you have the att version
yes. i tried both a 'stable' and nightly version of CM10 meant for the att version
yes. i tried both a 'stable' and nightly version of CM10 meant for the att version
When you say you have the "latest" CWM, what does that mean? Which version exactly? You should have 5.8.4.8
You need a modded version of CWM or just need to delete a line out of a file!
My girlfriend's note stopped working with AT&T services, so we decided we might as well flash a fresh ROM on there (since it was stuffed full of clutter and hundreds of apps.) I spoofed the product name in the build.prop to try to circumvent this exact same problem. It resulted in a bootlooping device and her USB port was broken, so we had to order a new USB port to fix it. We finally got the port and recovered the phone, and it still wouldn't work so we figured the SIM card reader was bad too. We ordered a replacement from ebay and the one we received was not what was described or even pictured on the product page, and was the completely wrong shape. She gave up and bought a Note 2, and now I'm trying to get a full refund on the reader.

I had to do it for my Galaxy Tab. Also why didn't you factory reset?

Are you talking about modifying the script, rather than the build.prop? I tried toggling the assert check in CWM but it wasn't fixing it, but then again, I might've been trying to flash an international version on her ATT note - she pretty much brought it over and we did everything in one night, so I wasn't familiar with the device at the time. I did my homework while we waited for the USB port to arrive though, so we got it from bootlooping to a new, updated nightly all within an hour of installing the part.
You guys do realize you get rewards and/or cashback for using credit cards right? Most importantly, it builds up your credit score early so you can buy a house/car easier later in life.
Wait, you have to do shit like that back there? Here you can just get a loan. Like, basically, if you haven't failed to pay your loans before getting a new one, you pretty much automatically qualify for certain things, and if you have enough money you qualify for even more things. Like a mortgage, for instance. I only know one person who's ever used the credit side of their credit card intentionally.

Too much hassle trying to Android.
So I'm writing up my Nexus 4 review tomorrow for FP, aside from the generic stuff, anything you guys want to know?
What's the screen like in relation to your... One X Lumia 920 Galaxy S III Y'kno in terms of color, brightness, black levels, response to sunlight, viewing angles, etc. I probably won't ever have a Nexus 4 to test that myself.
What's the screen like in relation to your... One X Lumia 920 Galaxy S III
Can I just cut the long explanation out and just say "Shit" But yeah, I will cover that.
Can I just cut the long explanation out and just say "Shit"
Even compared to the S3? Fuck that's kinda harsh. Though I guess the rule that undersaturated is better than oversaturated stops being applied once stuff really starts to look washed out.

Though I guess the rule that undersaturated is better than oversaturated stops being applied once stuff really starts to look washed out.
Yeah it's hard to compare it to something at the other end of the scale, I'd rather have things more vibrant than dull and lifeless. It's really noticeable on title bars like on the FP or FB app.
I seriously find that the HTC One X has the nicest phone screen I've seen.
I seriously find that the HTC One X has the nicest phone screen I've seen.
The One X has the best mobile display just about ever.
The One X has the best mobile display just about ever.
I'd put the iPhone 5 above it for it having better calibration(although the One X is still superb) and it being ~100nits brighter. Though I think the best just about ever, might be those 1920x1080 S-LCD3 panels HTC is putting in their 5" devices.
It's too bad HTC completely dropped the ball on everything else that matters to me, because their screens are awesome. The S3's screen looks like a giant nicotine stain on low brightness.
I actually am happier with my HTC One X than I was with my iPhone 4.

S3 LTE's guts (except for the screen) + One X's shell and screen + Lumia 920's camera + Apple quality optimization. The dream phone.
Might as well add in the Droid DNA screen too while you are at it Samsung should seriously stop using the shitty pentile displays
I am happy with my Galaxy nexus.

I haven't used my phone for weeks. It just sits there on my desk being sad.
I haven't used my phone for weeks. It just sits there on my desk being sad.
Ever since I got my tablet I barely touch my phone. It does everything my phone did faster and on a nicer screen. Granted, most of the time I spend on it is reading comics but still.

My iPad does everything I use to use my phone for, lately I've just been playing Mega Man X or reading stuff on Flipboard on it.
I don't really need my phone, or my tablet to be honest. although I don't really regret buying either. (i got the phone for free so w/e) My laptop does whatever the heck I need it to whenever, I'm usually beside a power outlet.
I've been using my laptop a lot more than my desktop lately. For being two years old it's still able to play the latest games at pretty good setting with a solid frame rate. I just need a cooling pad or something for it, gets kind toasty after a hour of Far Cry 3.
