Yep.

From what I've, MeeGo on the N9 looks a lot more intuitive. Sailfish seems to have some very nice ideas, but it seems like they took MeeGo, then used some of the philosophy for stuff that isn't really all that useful.
Steam seems to verify a random game every time I boot my desktop, and I have no idea why

live music tech here, software is for queers
live music tech here, software is for queers
Haha, we use a mixture.
Ableton & Logic for sequencing, Traktor for live stuff.
I usually use dedicated hardware for live stuff but in the off chance that I'm doing tracking mixing mastering I use protools
Our lecturer raves about protools, but for some reason won't get it.
Budget reasons I assume.
probably, protools is definitely on the expensive side, and the program is tied to the user rather than the computer. only reason I was able to get it is because the recording studio I work for pays for it
Then again, my college can afford pro license for Logic, Traktor, Ableton and Reason for 100+ macs, I don't think they're too poor.
protools is $700 a license though, all of those combined don't cost what protools costs
Is it worth it?

From what I hear Protools is the go-to software for most professionals, so I should get to grips with it really.
When I was looking to go to college for that I was gonna have to buy myself a $2000 board and a copy of protools. Friggin expensive to get started...
Finished RF: Armageddon
Quick review is: Would have been good without the plot or vehicle sections besides the exoskeleton, also BUYABLE CHEATS
WHY
what's the point of putting buyable cheats in a game, that you need to unlock by finishing the game, that's not even a cheat. Currently looking for a tool to edit my salvage amount and at least try them out before I uninstall the game.
The Flyer GX vehicle section was one of the best parts though D: It was Volition's throwback to Descent (they were half of the original dev team for Descent 1 and 2)

I'll probably be looking at something like that too when I go to university.
Student loan should handle that I guess.
I'm just probably gonna end up going to trade school for auto tech then move on to a 4 year program for it. 6 years total of schooling, but all I need is a wrench.

It made me all sad :(

The Flyer was alright I guess, decent weapons, though very floaty (huehue) control.
The second exoskeleton was just fucking awesome and I wish I could use it at all times (other than the fact it didn't have a magnet gun or a repair thingy but still)
the walkers were just plain crap. nothing redeemable about them
also [sp]yay you finally show your love for ms. fanservice WHOOPS DEAD[/sp]

not worth it if you're not already doing it professionally. use cubase or sonar or something
[editline]9th December 2012[/editline]
to be honest I like sonar better but protools is pretty much the industry standard and saying you use protools is always a good selling point
You'll find protools everywhere but unless your're dealing with other studios on a regular basis you won't find any issues using any other software. Worst comes to the worst you can give them pre/post full length stems. I find protools clunky to use and when I last used it you couldn't even fast-bounce tracks, that was a deal breaker for me.
I used to use Cubase in my studio but got tired of them putting bug fixes in major version releases with paid-for upgrades, it was costing a fortune. I now use REAPER. The internal audio engine is fantastic and it works across 3 monitors better than Cubase. A full commercial license is still cheaper than Cubase and you're covered for 100 versions.
It's worth learning protools, maybe with an m-powered copy if they still do those. I couldn't use it as my main DAW though.
So some of you may know of Steve Meade because of his car audio videos. He just built a PC for a rapper he knows, and then proceeded to play games with a controller. Also, he fucked up on the editing so theres repeated clips in the beginning.

Yeah that's what your mom said.

I'd like a three-monitor setup.
Urggh, after slaving over the keyboard for sometime my Nexus 4 review is finally done. Go check it out if you're interested.
I want to try the Kinect support for GMod but I have to rearrange my room and I did that a few weeks ago. It's a pain in the ass each time.

How would we know where to check it out if you don't link us or anything?

I didn't expect you to write the review for facepunch to be honest
I missed the phone chat? Oh well. For my birthday coming up in January I want to get rid of my shitty verizon keyboard phone. We've determined verizon's plans are all pretty shitty. No unlimited plans, and they're slowing moving to share everything. I don't want that. So we were thinking of going virgin, but they have a shitty selection of phones, as well as their network being slow and support being utter shit. i'm thinking now about t mobile. They're GSM (I think?), and they have a contract free plan I like, 100 minutes, unlimited text and data, but secretly after 5gb it's throttled below 4g speeds, which is still faster than virgin. The problem with t mobile is that I have been starting to call and have long conversations with people a lot more, and phones without a contract are expensive as fuck. Especially if you want a semi-decent new phone.
Why, US, why must you have the shittiest infrastructure known to man?

The Nexus 4 isn't too expensive. You can also look on craigslist for a used, unlocked GSM phone. I bought my last three phones used, as long as the screen isn't broken and there isn't water damage, there isn't a lot to go wrong with a phone since there's no moving parts.
