Yeah I would probably get a Nexus 4 if I actually got the plan. I was just hoping for a windows phone. I won't be disappointed either way though
I'll probably get the One X+. It already has a CM10 build on it. It isn't the best it's brand new, and should improve by a lot once I get my upgrade.
I missed the phone chat? Oh well. For my birthday coming up in January I want to get rid of my shitty verizon keyboard phone. We've determined verizon's plans are all pretty shitty. No unlimited plans, and they're slowing moving to share everything. I don't want that. So we were thinking of going virgin, but they have a shitty selection of phones, as well as their network being slow and support being utter shit. i'm thinking now about t mobile. They're GSM (I think?), and they have a contract free plan I like, 100 minutes, unlimited text and data, but secretly after 5gb it's throttled below 4g speeds, which is still faster than virgin. The problem with t mobile is that I have been starting to call and have long conversations with people a lot more, and phones without a contract are expensive as fuck. Especially if you want a semi-decent new phone.
Why, US, why must you have the shittiest infrastructure known to man?
T-Mobile is UMTS so they use sim cards, but they use AWS which is uncommon so you're basically limited to their phones, and Nexus devices. Though they are rolling out 1900MHz that they got from AT&T when the merger failed so you'll be able to get other WPX devices or the iPhone or whatever you need in certain areas.
The Nexus 4 isn't too expensive. You can also look on craigslist for a used, unlocked GSM phone. I bought my last three phones used, as long as the screen isn't broken and there isn't water damage, there isn't a lot to go wrong with a phone since there's no moving parts.
^This. When I bought my iPad I got it brand new in box from Kijiji and even it had been the $699 listed price I still would be saving the taxes on that seven hundred dollars.

Are you thinking of American T-Mobile? Cause they're GSM.

If you're just going to put CM10 on it just get a Nexus 4 instead, Tegra 3 is awful.
A Nexus 4 is a downgrade from a One X+. That screen is so disgusting...

It's a tough call really, but it seems silly to buy a phone just to put CM10 on it straight away.
It's basically what I did with my One X. Granted I'm contemplating leaving CM10 and going to a Sense ROM
Hell I might even go back to stock just because I'm tired of my camera fucking up everytime I go to shoot a video/take a picture

I don't have $350 and I want to have more than a 16gb maximum storage.
When I was looking to go to college for that I was gonna have to buy myself a $2000 board and a copy of protools. Friggin expensive to get started...
I got lucky and won a composition contest and won Komplete 8 and Protools for free. If you're not going professional, there are other tools available for much cheaper. For example, Reaper and Garritan. For professional work however you need to invest in the more expensive alternatives.
I turned my basement almost into a recording studio, dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones all lined up against on a table and wires running all over the place. Interface and mixers taking up my entire second desk.
Damn right it's expensive. Not to mention mic stands and filters and shit.

Makes perfect sense if you really can't stand the stock rom
it's beautiful

might be slow to load / not load, puush seems to be slow or broken right now.
Yeah puush is getting fucked hard in the ass right now.
Man, why did I not do this before? This is awesome.
I'm converting all the Project Horizon data files from CSV to a single SQLite database. It took 3 days to move the CPUs over, partially because I insisted on normalizing it and adding more data, but it's worth it.
Why?
Because I'm doing some quick "what will the resulting stats of this be" calculations using SQL views, and it is fast as fuck. It used to be that, if I wanted to change how something was calculated, I'd have to recompile (~30s) then run an export command in-game (~4min, because I never bothered to do the obvious optimizations), then look at the CSV file it spat out. Now I can just tweak some SQL code, hit F9, and see the results literally in milliseconds.
Preliminary results are showing a whole lot more variation than I used to see, so the gameplay improvement plan seems pretty viable.
Nikomo has my cell phone number and has started texting me cat facts. Fuck.

I have his number. I should probably do the same.

Did you actually buy that gaypi case or is this photo from elsewhere?

Here, have some more cat facts:
A cat utility first appeared in Version 1 AT&T UNIX
There is a section of the Wikipedia entry for cat devoted to the "useless use of cat"
The DOS/Windows equivalent of cat is "type" (this command also appears in OS/2, CP/M and VMS)
He's so lazy he just copy and pasted those to me.

I'll make sure Nikomo receives those.
I like cat because it's called cat and because it's actually surprisingly useful when you have to pipe output through nothing in particular or get multiline input.
Now he's facerolling his keyboard.
