I just got to episode 4, it's getting worse. They used to do briefings on a wall of TVs with a clicker. Now? [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, SERIOUSLY? DO YOU HAVE TO BE ANY MORE OBVIOUS? [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] WINDOWS CAN'T EVEN DRAW WINDOWS AT AN ANGLE WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
They do the same rotating thing on Hawai five-o. Maybe the touchtable shit microsoft has been working on for like 10 years now can actually do that shit?
lol no, that effect done there is clearly done in post. It's way too shitty to be real. Besides, pixelsense has a different UI

Both Hawaii five-o and NCIS have used that thing since the start, and I've seen them do the rotating picture thing on both. They must use the same people or love doing the same stuff then.
TV shows just like to spoonfeed people falsehoods

Well I mean let's be realistic though, if they were real government agencies they'd probably be using Pentium 4's or C2D's on XP/Vista, and bluescreens do not make for exciting TV
Christmas is coming soon, so I'll start installing windows now. Ehh, burned my second to last DVD a few moments ago, now using it to install windows. Great.
Desperation level: Microsoft They didn't even bother changing the fucking name to the character's name. I'm so Googling Tom Baker now.
And now i got to the fun part. THE MOTHERFUCKING DRIVER HUNTING GAME. Because only a few lappies come with real drivers on the disk. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] Holy fuck, I installed 3 drivers, 2 realtek ones, 1 broadcom and guess what happened? nothing. Only bluetooth started working. the fuck am i gonna do with bluetooth? I need wifi. Okay, some other thing with wireless in it's name. Oh man, now when I press the function key for turning on wifi, it shows me a popup that it is on or off. Yeah, atleast something works. ugh, fucking hate that. It also used a webgui to choose the drivers and install them. The webgui was broken and the driver setup launcher didn't even launch.

Don't know how you guys find it hard to find drivers. If it's a really obscure brand of PC, just look at the actual chips
Hell, getting the device ID from the device manager is fruitful, too.
Pepper;38865761']Don't know how you guys find it hard to find drivers. Now do find trusty source of drivers for that.
Pepper;38865892']You could probably get it from realteks website.
realteks website didn't show jack to me. Found some other ones, gonna try them tomorrow. Today my parents are gonna be soon home, and it is kind of a gift to my mother and she better not know about it til' christmas.

NCIX Tech Tips: Camp Counselor edition. Who here uses Windows 8 as their main OS right now? Just curious.
NCIX Tech Tips: Camp Counselor edition. Who here uses Windows 8 as their main OS right now? Just curious.
I do. I like it. Its as usable as win7, but boots way faster.
What's the consensus on the ThinkPads' new keyboards, by the way? I've heard conflicting reports - "the mechanism is the same, but the feedback's gone", "the feedback's better because of the shape", etc.
My friend ordered an i7-3770K as an upgrade from his i3-2100, and since I'm the PC guy around here I'm helping him install it. (I also built his computer) Anyhow, first time I've experienced something being DOA. As soon as the 3770K was installed and I turned on the computer it would not boot and the PSU kept making a clicking noise. After googling around a bit, I concluded that the 3770K is dead, because the 2100 still worked and the PC booted with it.

Motherboard might need a BIOS update before it can handle a 3xxx
Motherboard might need a BIOS update before it can handle a 3xxx
How do I update the motherboards BIOS? That's one of the things I've never meddled with.

I actually prefer that kind of keyboard over my desktops. :v: And the feedback is still the good old one.
How do I update the motherboards BIOS? That's one of the things I've never meddled with.
The manufacturer *should* be able to hold your hand most of the way - check if they have a ROM update utility.
NCIX Tech Tips: Camp Counselor edition. Who here uses Windows 8 as their main OS right now? Just curious.
I do. There's some little things that feel weird, but it's just yet another Windows, no dramatic change.
How do I update the motherboards BIOS? That's one of the things I've never meddled with.
What kind of motherboard (or system in the case of a prebuilt) do you have?
I do. I like it. Its as usable as win7, but boots way faster.
I do, and I'm actively converting people to it.
I do, and I'm actively converting people to it.
It took me till a year ago to upgrade to 7, I get comfortable in an OS.
