My friend ordered an i7-3770K as an upgrade from his i3-2100, and since I'm the PC guy around here I'm helping him install it. (I also built his computer)
Anyhow, first time I've experienced something being DOA.
As soon as the 3770K was installed and I turned on the computer it would not boot and the PSU kept making a clicking noise.
After googling around a bit, I concluded that the 3770K is dead, because the 2100 still worked and the PC booted with it.
Are you sure the motherboard's compatible with it? It might just need a simple BIOS update, if it's a sandy motherboard.

Christ, the info online about grounding yourself when building a PC is so erratic and contradictory. Some say that it's okay to use a large metal object, others say it has to be connected to an electrical ground. Some say an aluminium laptop plugged into a grounded outlet will ground you, others say it won't. The amount of damage that an ESD can do to components is also wildly varied depending on who you ask. Some sort of clarification is needed.

Photoshopping out "bags" under eyes is such a pain, but each eye is effectively 10 dollars of time.
Only problem is it's so hard to make them look realistic.

Draw another FP logo on the board.
Holy shit! I'm able to type with my Windows Phone here on Facepunch!
I mentioned the problem earlier, that the keyboard would disappear as soon as it popped up, but now I realized that when I tap the text field at the right time, the keyboard would stay.

I'm halfway into an entire week of unstable weather, it's rainy and windy and shit and it's absolutely wonderful for someone who dislikes the summer.

I find the summer almost unbearable, it's all hot and sunny and stuff. I like the winter much better.

Winter kinda sucks too. Spring and autumn are the best. But yeah, I'd rather be too cold than too hot.

Yes.
Occasionally we do lan battles with the entire class. People are starting to move over to C&C 3 recently though, not sure how I feel about that.
I would get everyone into Generals but I can't get it to work in windows 7.
So I'm doing a Cert in IT and this is one of the example pictures (How to open powerpoint)

I see the standard software suite for this office is Windows XP, Office 2003, Office 2007, winRAR and Civ 3
those look more like Office '97 icons to me for some reason
[editline]18th December 2012[/editline]
also Civ 4 came out in '05 so why do they only have Civ 3
2003? Looks like Office XP or 2000.

I don't know which icons are what, I haven't used that version of office for years :v:

This exam would be so much better if I wasn't outlining the steps on how to use Office 2000

Office 2000 is 12 years old now, I'd stick with 2007/2010 for this kind of stuff.
I remember doing an I.T assessment and it was horrendous, I didn't want to learn Office 2003, yet I already know a majority of the features and what use I make out of it.

I think we were talking about the other icons, the ones that don't have 2007 next to them
Civ should be standard for any office

He meant the ones that aren't grouped into a folder, there's more than one Office suite.
I do have more than one office suite on my PC.

My old supervisor took a laptop from inventory and would run Civ5 on it all day while at work and brag to people he's using a company laptop to play games and run steam games. And I found out a few days ago he would call me worthless behind my back :v:
Guess who just received his GG button in the mail, aww yeah.
