That Atrix lapdock as an extra monitor seems cool, but shit, I don't have enough space on my desk for that. Might as well just buy a monitor for that price too :v:
The secondary monitor thing was just a little experiment in practicality anyway (and it worked, but still).
The cool thing about those lapdock things is that apparently you can make them into modular laptops. You can hook a raspberry pi up so that it's entirely portable with this thing, because it serves as a keyboard, mouse, battery, and monitor. Pretty neat.
That's the only thing I would do with it. :v:
I just looked into the cost of monitors and the main monitor I got for $200 last BF is $250 still... Man, if I had a 3rd monitor, I would be happy, but I need a new desk before I can do that.

Not me, I wouldn't waste money on Skype outwards calls, and I've been sleeping for like the last... 12 hours?
SSD's need to hurry up getting cheaper.

They're already pretty damn cheap.
A 500GB 840 is still £300
And they need to plug straight into the mobo instead of using sata.
And they need to plug straight into the mobo instead of using sata.
Some mobos do that already.
I need one for my x131e for super fast bootup.

Why even buy an 840, they're pretty crap iirc.

wait what do you mean by this exactly
PCI-E slot SSDs or something?
Got called a hacker for running Mint off a flash drive on my dads old company thinkpad
~skillz~

Similar to how RAM modules plug in i'd imagine.

I got some people in school who think they are ~hackers~ because they installed backtrack in a VM.
Wow, WinDBG is really fucking useful at debugging bluescreens when you hook it up to the right symbols - where bluescreenview likes to just blame ntoskernel.exe if something strange fucks up, it can find the correct place to blame; for example, this 0x9F bugcheck was blaming the kernel, but if we look at it with windbg:

Try it out next time you've got a BSOD that refuses to go the fuck away. The debugging tools are here (usbview.exe is also really fucking useful, shows you ports on a tree), and a guide to setting up symbols / using the fucker is here. See also the big fat list of bug checks

Planetside 2.
I've spent $130.
I remember reading an awesome Russian article about recovering from a BSoD without a reboot. In some cases it was possible to get the OS stable enough to do stuff like saving running files and then doing a proper reboot.
Shame I can't find it anymore...

I thought the triple SC offer would save me money but nope, might as well get as much as possible.

Probably a remote debugger attached to a debug kernel with symbols. Windows 8 added Debugging over TCP/IP, before you had to use Serial / Null Modem / Null USB.
sigh
13 days and 19 Steam support messages later and I'm still unable to play the copy of Civ IV my friend bought for me.

have you tried a different computer
have you tried a different computer
Yes.
And 3 different Windows installs.
And I've tried reinstalling Steam COMPLETELY multiple times.
And I've tried compatibility mode, running as administrator, etc
No go.
Just this fucking error.

I don't think this is on my end. At all. But apparently because Steam support doesn't have anything similar to this it MUST be my fault.
