I still need a new case. I have no hard drive bays or 5.25-3.5 inch adapters.
I have vague memories of my earlier grade classrooms having a Unisys Icon. On another note, Heavy Rain is fucking awesome though I got to a pretty depressing part and started up Red Dead Redemption instead.
I remember when i left my primary school (back in 2005/6) they had upgraded to pentium IIs with bloated XP :suicide: My secondary school had athlon XP 2400+ boxes which ran alright, then they got "upgraded" to complete and utter piles of WANK core 2 duo e4300 lenovo thinkcentres which were really fucking unstable (the capacitors kept blowing for some reason). They could BARELY run XP. College PCs were pretty nice. viglens running xp, e7500 c2d, 4gb RAM

[editline]27th December 2012[/editline] In the primary school where my mother teaches, they have one trolley of dell laptops between the whole school, no fixed IT room. It's absolutley naff.
All of our school pc's have a "Windows Vista Installed" sticker but they are all running XP Our IT class computers are running windows 7 though, so there is hope
All of our school pc's have a "Windows Vista Installed" sticker but they are all running XP Our IT class computers are running windows 7 though, so there is hope
It's common practice not to use the OS it ships with in a school, especially if they have a volume licence agreement with MS.

The main techie of that college is a total bro, If i was finished with work, i'd ask if anything needed sorting in the IT department, any PC that was being chucked out? Feel free to pillage the parts!
The CaseLabs STH10 is just, wow, you can like sleep in it.
or you could just buy a rosewill case or something and use the money saved to buy yourself a car

I have no idea about overclocking, but I put the two bars for GPU and memory at the top and I'm at a good 52c. Is that a good thing? [editline]26th December 2012[/editline] also does anyone know anything about audio interfaces? I'm thinking about getting Avid Recording Studio, which comes with the M-Box and a copy of Protools SE, which I could really use. It's only 90 bucks on amazon. There's also this other Focusrite interface that looks pretty decent. It's a bit more expensive though, about 169.99. However, it comes with 2 XLR inputs instead of the one that the M-Box has, and a few more extra toys to mess with. But it doesn't have the software! I have two microphones which is why I ask; should I go for the interface that has only 1 XLR input, but comes with some expensive software, or should I get the interface with 2 XLR's and some more features, but no software?
Sweet, 32c (CPU) 63c (GPU) max. Temperatures at load (Unigine @ Max, Furmark) GPU could be better though, it's not as good at cooling in Linux for whatever reason My motherboard reports 800c :v:
luckily my basement is hella cold all the time so cooling shouldn't be an issue
My GPU on my desktop crashes when I try and O/C it by 20MHz, but on my laptop I can stably O/C the GPU to 220MHz more than stock. Such is GPUs
All of our school pc's have a "Windows Vista Installed" sticker but they are all running XP Our IT class computers are running windows 7 though, so there is hope
I used to steal those stickers all the time and place them on random portable devices and then one day I was sitting at a table browsin' the interwebs and somebody asked me if my iPod Touch really ran Windows Vista
The CaseLabs STH10 is just, wow, you can like sleep in it.
I believe the STH10 is a thinner TH10. I planned on getting the TH10 with a pedestal for my next giant build whenever it happens.
Because it's old as hell.
If you don't have an SSD but you want one as a non-mechanical alternative though....
If you don't have an SSD but you want one as a non-mechanical alternative though....
But then why would you get a last generation one? Those sucked horrifically, you could barely put a few writes on them before shit got slower than mechanical. There was barely any advantage since you could store once or twice and then read from then on, lest you lose the advantage. There's just no point bothering.

Jesus christ that's colder than my room right now
Jesus christ that's colder than my room right now
Yeah it's freezing in here. I'm about to put 3 more fans in, and when I get my fan controller I'll set the 5 connected to it to 100% and see how cool (and loud) it gets.
