The more expensive the mix, the better!
I'm not sure, but I would have thought putting silver granules would be a hell of a lot better.
According to Wikipedia: Carbon based compounds have the best conductivity [Citation Needed]
So I think it's just another case of "The gold cables have more gigahertz"

also does anyone know anything about audio interfaces? I'm thinking about getting Avid Recording Studio, which comes with the M-Box and a copy of Protools SE, which I could really use. It's only 90 bucks on amazon. There's also this other Focusrite interface that looks pretty decent. It's a bit more expensive though, about 169.99. However, it comes with 2 XLR inputs instead of the one that the M-Box has, and a few more extra toys to mess with. But it doesn't have the software! I have two microphones which is why I ask; should I go for the interface that has only 1 XLR input, but comes with some expensive software, or should I get the interface with 2 XLR's and some more features, but no software?
I'd personally go with the Focusrite because the Preamps will probably be a bit better (Focusrite know what they are doing!), but more importantly I consider multi-micing techniques to be an important part of my recording process. Having a single microphone input with no obvious means of expansion by S/PDIF or even simple line inputs would do my head in.
Aside from that, I'm not a fan of protools. I find it clunky to use and a bit "old hat". Despite this I did take the time to learn how to use it just because you're expected to know in this industry. I personally use REAPER in my home studio and have never looked back. The cheap price doesn't make it a "cheap" piece of software, it EASILY stacks up against more known software, I stopped buying Cubase upgrades because of it.
Average broadband speed in 2012 in the USA was 6.7 megabits per second.
I'm getting 7.7 in a bus, in the middle of nowhere, going at 90km/h.

Simply because diamond is the best heat conductive material available on Earth.
Personally, I would not accept any US-based ISP as my provider except Google.

Something extremely unlikely would have to happen to get me to move to the States, based on what I've heard from Americans.
So, anything short of Gabe personally descending from his PC gaming throne, to give me a job, wouldn't get me to move there.

Really? I could never find working instructions to run OS X on a T61... Though I imagine it'd only play nice with the version that has the Intel video chipset honestly. (because it'd be near identical to a 2007 MB)
also fuck properly editing things, I'm lazy

Speaking of OS X, anyone know how to get it work properly in VMware? I can't change the resolution and even if I have 3D acceleration enabled, OS X doesn't make use of it or something.
But hey, at least it works!

Running OS X in VMWare to begin with is a huge hack :v:

Don't delete the magic!

If I just knew what caused ImageMagick to use a scratch file to begin with (Or what the hell I was doing to make a 512GB one)
i had a dream where i was using ubuntu for a month and didn't realize it because i spent all that time web browsing
I had a dream I was playing DayZ and it was actually good.
Then I woke up.
Shame, I could've turned it into a lucid dream :v:
I haven't remembered any of my dreams in like... months.
Decided to try Win8, And ofc Dreamspark didn't help much. The version that was out excluded Sweden and around 10 other countries, and the one where you had to be in one of those 10 countries is not released until sometime in january
So pre-release version it is. Installing now. Success/failure soon ohoy
[editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
Ok, Install went good. Internet explorer crashes on startup though :v:
