Hope this is alright:
But yeah, what type of fan should I get for a stock ATX case that won't ruin my wallet (Steam sales :argh:) but prevents lava from pouring forth from my case?
Got it now :D! Now I have 512GB worth of SSD. 830 and the new 840.
So, I've been trying to set up triple monitors. Here is my setup: [IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/tgGRZ.jpg[/IMG_THUMB] I am using my GTX275, which has two outputs, and my onboard intel HD2500, which has one. But I am getting a very stupid and annoying problem: A and B plugged into GTX275, C unplugged = system stable A and C plugged into GTX275, B unplugged = system stable A and C plugged into GTX275, B plugged into motherboard = system stable A and B plugged into GTX275, C plugged into motherboard = if I plug the monitors in when the system is on, they work however if I try and change the positioning, or restart windows I get a BSOD with the NVidia driver. It's so bloody annoying and I can't find an explanation.
Hehe, now that I got my i5 3570k, everything gets bottlenecked by my terrible HD4650. Next upgrade, PSU/GPU I guess. But atleast now I can play newer games without having that terrible lag what I had with my 1.5GHz E5200. Also I can record with no fps drop :v:

my 7970 idles at 60 degrees is that bad
I hope you're not using Fraps.
With fraps I would have a bigbigbigbigbigbig fps drop probably. Don't have it, don't want it.
I don't know what you guys are worrying about, my 275 Idled at about 80c before I attacked it with a leafblower.
my 580gtx is sitting at 50C while i'm browsing seems fine to me
I hope you're not using Fraps.
Hell is there another option that is actually reliable? Because I've yet to find one. FRAPS just works. [editline]o[/editline] Way to waste post #7000
I don't know what you guys are worrying about, my 275 Idled at about 80c before I attacked it with a leafblower.
I'm sorry, I'm just worrying that eventually I might be able to brew my tea on the case, or more realistically that such high temperatures might not be good for the card.
it's much better than the rest of the recent call of duty games the single player is actually worth trying out this time, that hasn't happened since big red one
Are you saying that the COD4 singleplayer wasn't worth it because it was [editline]29th December 2012[/editline] oh WHOOPS didn't notice how many pages there were
Incoming Dxtory posts
Yeah I got tired of fighting with DXtory. All codecs I could find did either: 1 - Not manage recording in real-time 2 - Take up more space than FRAPS recordings 3 - Not work with editing programs (Sony Vegas or Premiere) So I went back, and suddenly FRAPS didn't seem like a bad program anymore. But if anyone has something that would actually work, sure I guess I can try it again.

Works well enough for me. I don't need it a lot though.

Did you for example install UT video codec and chose YUV420? Dxtory has the same option as Fraps where you can force your framerate to stay and really stay at constant 30/60FPS.

Isn't that an enormous lossless one? Also I know that, not sure why you're bringing it up. Keep in mind that not all codecs would make the recording not go in real-time, just some. (those probably not meant for real-time recording)
What do you even mean with real-time recording?
Isn't it obvious? With some codecs, Dxtory does not manage to encode the file fast enough, resulting in a file at a variable fps below 30.
Isn't it obvious? So you mean that even with the synchronize video FPS you still get bad FPS?
I've never ever had that problem so didn't think about what you meant. So you mean that even with the synchronize video FPS you still get bad FPS?
The video file get bad FPS, yes.

Also you can use the Fraps codec and just write to multiple HDDs, if you have some that is.
Option 1: You are utter shit at finding codecs and optimizing them for your system. Also yeah I know i can write to multiple drives, but I don't have a problem with HDD speeds.
And yet you're unable to name any that would work? Also yeah I know i can write to multiple drives, but I don't have a problem with HDD speeds.
No, I'm not unable, you just didn't ask for one. I use this, and then use Handbrake to lower the filesize with little loss in quality but huge loss in filesize.
Video recording is so much effort :I
Just picked myself up a second Logitech Harmony One remote for my bedroom home theater, was a return at sears, got it for $65, completely brand new, what a steal. Actually, instead of that story, I got it at goodwill for $1.99, my human sacrifice to the computer gods continues to reward me.
Incoming Dxtory posts
B-b-but its good :(
my brother and I got my dad a harmony remote for father's day last year. Really nice piece of technology, but he can't use it the text is too small and so are some of the buttons. Now I'm the only one in the house who uses the $70 remote :saddowns:
