Social media is alright if used correctly. The thing that bothers me, 99.9% of the posts I see, are either dumb drama, or persons posting citations they don't even know, and even more drama. And don't forget the people screaming for attention.
Don't worry, I voted for social media as well because I know we can use nukes to neutralize the idiots anyway.
Ahh, Slashdot. Heard it right here folks. Social media is worse than Nukes are.
Just another day on the internet.

Yeh, Wingless is a deadly animal
Why nuke australia when south america is in dire need of nukes, nukes don't grow on trees you know! friggin BRs
Yeah, nuke Australia and you're like half done. Gets rid of most of the deadly animals on the planet too.
yeah but how would the missile react when up is down
yeah but how would the missile react when up is down
it might start falling off the earth, which is why we should use a timer in case it actually starts falling off the earth, if it detonated with a timer, it would still be close enough to destroy electronics in the entire country, making sure we don't have to hear about them bitching about internet speeds or games costing $110.

The only place I've heard of a nuke detonated over the atmosphere causing an EMP blast was in MW2. edit: yes it has I'm sorry I don't know everything about nukes
After 7 months and 16 days of ownership, my Arc touch mouse needs new batteries. That's pretty decent battery life imo.
Has this actually been tested? The only place I've heard of a nuke detonated over the atmosphere causing an EMP blast was in MW2.
They mentioned it in Stargate as well!! No but seriously nukes cause EMPs.
Has this actually been tested? The only place I've heard of a nuke detonated over the atmosphere causing an EMP blast was in MW2.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-altitude_nuclear_explosion
EMP generation The strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that results has several components. In the first few tens of nanoseconds, about a tenth of a percent of the weapon yield appears as powerful gamma rays with energies of one to three mega-electron volts (MeV, a unit of energy). The gamma rays penetrate the atmosphere and collide with air molecules, depositing their energy to produce huge quantities of positive ions and recoil electrons (also known as Compton electrons). The impacts create MeV-energy Compton electrons that then accelerate and spiral along the Earth's magnetic field lines. The resulting transient electric fields and currents that arise generate electromagnetic emissions in the radio frequency range of 15 to 250 megahertz (MHz, or one million cycles per second). This high-altitude EMP occurs between 30 and 50 kilometers (18 and 31 miles) above the Earth's surface. The potential as an anti-satellite weapon became apparent in August 1958 during Hardtack Teak. The EMP observed at the Apia Observatory at Samoa was four times more powerful than any created by solar storms, while in July 1962 the Starfish Prime test damaged electronics in Honolulu and New Zealand (approximately 1,300 kilometers away), fused 300 street lights on Oahu (Hawaii), set off about 100 burglar alarms, and caused the failure of a microwave repeating station on Kauai, which cut off the sturdy telephone system from the other Hawaiian islands. The radius for an effective satellite kill for the various prompt radiations produced by such a nuclear weapon in space was determined to be roughly 80 km. Further testing to this end was carried out, and embodied in a Department of Defense program, Program 437.
The only problem I have with social media is that facebook has turned into people sharing stupid pictures and memes for the most part, I don't think I've seen an actual text status from half my friends in weeks
Currently I've been maintaining a productive linux webserver for the past few weeks. I took it over from a worker that has left some time ago. today I I decided to check how much space it had left (it was a virtual machine) it had around 5mb space left. I almost flipped my shit over it, because almost nothing was installed on it, so I decided to check how much space was allocated to the VHD. 2 FUCKING GIGABYTES!! 2 TINY FUCKING GIGS! what the fuck has my ex-worker been thinking. allocating only 2GB HDD space to a productive webserver. I am litterally flipping my shit right now... I don't even know how the server was able to run for 2 years without the space getting filled up by backups. [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] Removed some unneeded files he uploaded. got it down to 96% [editline]22nd October 2012[/editline] atleast it has 500mb ram
