Have you already seen the new FX 8350 its as fast as an i7 now. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-8350-vishera-review,3328.html
With only twice the power usage! And no, it falls behind the 3770k in most things. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6396/the-vishera-review-amd-fx8350-fx8320-fx6300-and-fx4300-tested
meh, was acutally hoping that the 8350 would be good. Welp now when they come to my store it'll be thrown in with the rest of the shitty amd processors. Shit the phenom X4 competes in certain ways with there 8000 series of processors.
I guess Steamroller is gonna fix this and if not amd is fucked.
I guess Steamroller is gonna fix this and if not amd is fucked.
They're already fucked, they announced not too long ago they're just going to give up focus on desktop processors.
Oh great that seller ended his fucking listing for a T61p. Also I'm beginning to realize I hate android. So sluggish...
They're already fucked, they announced not too long ago they're just going to give up focus on desktop processors.
I only ever saw that on rumor sites
I only ever saw that on rumor sites
Well, you have this old shit: http://www.theverge.com/2011/11/28/2592783/amd-mobile-x86-arm-2012 But then you have this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6383/amd-q3-2012-earnings-157m-loss-15-of-workforce-to-be-cut After that, they'd be insane not to.

Doing poorly because the gamers aren't buying up their shit anymore would give me incentive to improve, not incentive to just go "FUCK IT I'M OUT"

It's not just gamers that aren't buying their desktop shit, it's everyone. The market isn't there for them anymore. Move on to what you are good at, stick to GPU's. If they continue to waste R&D money on desktop they're just going to go under.

Intel nearly died before the Core 2 series came out. Netburst was an absolute disaster of a similar magnitude to Bulldozer.

Take a look at AMD's roadmap and then have a look at what Haswell is probably going to be. AMD's something like 15% boost for the next gen, Haswell is looking like it's going to be 40-50% MT with 30% ST, basically the next Nehalem. AMD don't have a chance.
And even then Intel didn't fully recover until Lynnfield came around [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline]
Intel kept going because they knew they had a good chip coming. [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] The fuck cloudflare? Just sent me to some vbulletin js file for some reason.

AMD is still not dropping out. They're going to go right back to dominating the price:performance market like they did all the way up until sandy bridge
That is an ugly ass theme imo
Pretty sure this happened last time he posted something with his longhorn theme.
Yeah, but seriously, that huge back button looks like a theme you'd find for XP.
worse than XP, it looks like something you'd see for KDE
Here's some OS eye bleach, I really like the new file transfer thingy in windows 8. Finally you can pause transfers! And dat graph.
no that looks pretty bad too [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] sharp corners are so windows me
no that looks pretty bad too [editline]23rd October 2012[/editline] sharp corners are so windows me
Sharp corners and centered text headings are so off-putting for me, with Windows 8.
Oh boy! Go along with it?
Talk to the Australian offices of Interpol or whatever, ask them to give you a fake bank account number so they can track this guy. Worst case scenario is they'll just say "no".
I like it, I'm so tired of seeing round corners everywhere.
Talk to the Australian offices of Interpol or whatever, ask them to give you a fake bank account number so they can track this guy. Worst case scenario is they'll just say "no".
This is not a bad idea.
How difficult would it be to install Windows 8 over my current install of Windows 7 (without fucking up too much), and then how difficult would it be to go back to 7 should I really hate 8.
No reason to go back to 7, when you go windows 8 you dont go back.
