Why buy that?
Cause it was the cheapest 1TB drive around here. I need more storage, speed doesn't matter that much to me and that was the cheapest. Or should I look at the barracudas or slightly pricier WD Greens? Those were around 10€ cheaper than the others.
I return with an example! There's a Minecraft texture pack called Sphax PureBDCraft. You can go to his website and download the pack for free, and participate in the message board to talk about suggestions and improvements. So, somebody made some edits to the pack and uploaded the texture file. A moderator responded with this. That's right. He's worried about piracy of an unencrypted .zip file on the very website where fucking anybody can download it for free. I don't think he understands quite how the website he's moderating works.
100% DirectX 8 and below GPUs, we seem to have gone back in time slightly.

Built a computer for a friend yesterday, it went pretty smooth. I got the case led indicators right at first try, yay. But the first boot failed because one of the RAM sticks wasn't properly inserted :v: And here's something interesting about the WEI of that computer:
I am.
How are you finding it?
How are you finding it?
I can't say for sure - not past week 0 as I've been bogged down with other things, but I intend to continue.
Week 1 is ridiculous compared to Week 0. It's not amazingly difficult, but I've been programming in Linux for 2-3 years and it took me about 3 hours.
Is it normal for windows update to suddenly decide that 30 updates that I was going to install don't exist?
Is it normal for windows update to suddenly decide that 30 updates that I was going to install don't exist?
"Check online for updates from Microsoft Update" Also "View installed updates" to make sure they didn't actually get installed.
Do any of you guys own a zoostorm netbook? [editline]1st November 2012[/editline] Lemme re-clarify, one of these:
I used to have a zoostorm desktop, it wasn't badly built at all. But I wouldn't trust the hinge on that thing to last for more than a year at most.
Can't afford more than £1500 just for a fucking tablet. It's gross to see just slates every-fucking-where. I don't trust ebay that much, and it's limited chances put me off. I had an older variant of the thing, it's hinge was pretty sturdy and just as good as my Thinkpads. But it's sad that every manufacturer has cut down on these tablets, or they just blew the price up.
Makol, how are you using your G600?
Makol, how are you using your G600?
I'm guessing he's using it as a mouse.
Good work LINUS NO SOUND!

It's clearly because the system contained too many Intel Xtreme parts. Our ears wouldn't have been able to handle it.
"We're so confident about this upload that we're not gonna test watch it at all!"
"JOHNSON. HAVE YOU FINISHED THE NEW LINUS VIDEO?" "No sir, the sound hasn't been mixed." "UPLOAD IT ANYWAY OR YOU'RE FIRED".
FUck, I was going to get a Zalman CNPS12X, now I learn that it only supports RAM with a height of about 4 cm, but my Vengeance bars are 5 cm high. They are also really close to the stock cooler. Where the hell am I going to find a "small" high performance CPU cooler... Might just have to get a closed loop because of size issues.

My Mushkin 4x4GB kit has sticks that are just moderately big and I still had to mess with the fan position on my Hyper 212+ to get it to fit.
so when do the directX 12 cards come out

You might even be fine with a D14 if you move the ram across into the farthest slots.
Makol, how are you using your G600?
wha do you mean like what games I'm using it for/how well does it work?
wha do you mean like what games I'm using it for/how well does it work?
I mostly meant how you use your side buttons and that third button.
Oh. I just bound the buttons to the 1 through = keys since by default they're set tithe F keys. And I don't use the third button, I honestly have no idea what to use it for.
*shudder* one IDE ribbon is bad enough.
I wanna get one just to hook all of my 160GB IDE HDDs up to it. 2.5TB RAID0 anyone? [editline]1st November 2012[/editline] They're going for cheap too http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l2736&_nkw=3WARE+IDE+RAID+CARD
*shudder* one IDE ribbon is bad enough.
Post this in a guts thread on /g/. Watch as people have seizures over cable management. I'm not even obsessive over cable management, but IDE cables are just distilled evil incarnate. Nothing can fuck up airflow in a case quite like an IDE rats nest.
