I have a 4850 and it maxed out everything I asked it to at 1440x1050 before it broke.
Fucking prebuilts.
A 5850 should run most games well at 1920x1080. Hell, if you don't mind running some things at medium, you might be able to get away with a 5770. Or 4890.
I have decided I'll go with the GTX 470, unless they'll "update" it anytime soon.. Do you know anything about that?
have you found it somewhere roughly between the 5850 and 5870? if not don't bother, outside of US/Canada/a few other random places, they're overpriced and usually just a little under a 5870

It's pretty much the same price as 5870, cheapest GTX470 I could find was 368€ and cheapest 5870 365€

Point of View GTX 470 is only 340-350€.
Are you serious, my HD3850 manages to churn out games at ~30fps (which is for the most part more than playable) on pretty high settings at 1920x1080, since everything you have is better, I don't see why you should be having a problem :/

yea um he doesnt play morrowind
The 3850 isn't that crappy.
It's not the best by any means, but it isn't horrible.

It wouldn't be anything for new age gaming.
I'm sure you could probably run some source games on it at low resolutions and settings.
I would probably depend on it for daily use.
I thought so. Well, I'll try to speak with my parents. :downs:
I got a 5850 for $310 off of newegg. It was a Gigabyte OC edition. I love it to death.
Well any current or future FPS and racing games. Something like that.
Btw, my computer couldn't run even CSS at 1080p with full settings. :geno:

All I want is to play my games smoothly in my monitor's native resolution without lowering the graphics.
it should be able to, my 9800 GT (same card with a die shrink) does 1080p with full settings around 90 FPS minimum.

The problem was I used 16xQ CSAA anti-aliasing which dropped my fps to 30-40.
I wouldn't really bother with Call of Pripyat on a HD 57xx GPU... My system can barely handle it on 1600x900 0xAA 4xAF, and everything medium/low. With drops to 20fps in places.
What chu' talking 'bout CDLink?
I can run Pripyat at 1680x1050 at high with no FPS lag. I can even run it at 2560x1680 at medium/low.

I ran source games fine with my 6800GT, intel celeron 2.8GHz and 2GB of RAM.. Though the textures were pretty weird^^
