IIRC, there are better alternatives for that price.
is the Dell AT102W keyboard a 'Clicky' keyboard?
Strange, I just started looking for mechanical keyboards myself...
Now I can't decide between Das Keyboard and a Filco Majestouch. Both have Blue MX Switches. Any tips?
filco because it has better build quality
filco because it has better build quality
Yeah, I've alo heard this. I think I'll go for filco.
I heard Das Keyboard is very satisfying to use. You can probably find some videos on YouTube of someone reviewing it.
filco because it has better build quality
They're pretty much the same, and even so, with high end keyboards like that, differences in build quality are almost negligible. I would buy the Das over the Filco just because it looks a lot nicer.
I'll look at unicomp. Also wow, I had no idea there were so many people interested in loud, clicky keyboards. I wonder how easy it would be to get a unicomp one, and spraypaint/paint/whatever it black, then stick the keys back on?

It be better to just buy a black keyboard, Paint eventually wears down.
One Razer keyboard is mechanical. Expensive, but hey it's Razer.

$130
Only $60 extra for backlighting!
Why the fuck would you pay that much for it when you can just buy a Filco or Das?

I would love that (backlit keys) but I am trying to stay a bit on the cheap side here.

Yes and the Razer is $130.
Wait a minute, the razer black widow is $80, not $130..?
Yes and that's $1 difference, not $60?
The other version of the Blackwidow is $70 and doesn't have backlighting.

Oh!! Now I understand. haha
I am tempted to get a click clack keyboard (sounds better than mechanical) but trying to choose between them is a nightmare.
those "intel model ms" are IBM, SGI, or Dell. just sayin
anyway, I use an AT101W, it's a great keyboard, is relatively easy to find, and has a quiet variant if you're a fag
FYI, SGI never made clicky keyboards. They built a keyboard of their own awesome breed of membrane keyboards which we call the Granite as they have a granite texture and are near-indestructible.

you're right, I'm thinking their AT101 quietkey clone. it was Lexmark that rebranded the other Model Ms

Yup that is correct, I think.
If anybody knows anything about back-lighting mods, help would be appreciated. I was thinking some LED's scattered around the inside of the keyboard and a switch on the side of it to toggle the lights.
I just bought the DAS (MX Blue Switches) because the Majestouch was out of stock.
I've always dreamed of using a MX Blue or whatever it was keyboard.
But I can't own it cause I don't have a credit card and its almost impossible to find good ol mechanical keyboard other than Razer or Steelseries.

MX Blue? I think you mean Cherry MX Blue switches? They're a type of spring used in mechanical keyboards. The Razer Blackwidow uses MX Blue. Some Steelseries keyboards also use Cherry MX Blue.

You'll find Filco, Topre, Realforce, Matias and DAS keyboards there.
Does anyone know if the Unicomp Spacesaver/Customizer are NKRO? I've been googling all day to no luck.

The Unicomp Customizer 104 is just 2KRO. http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=191707&postcount=473
I keep hearing good things about the Razer Blackwidow (not the ultimate one, $50 is not worth backlighting and a USB/sound hub), but could anyone here recommend it to me? My old G15v2 is beginning to act strange and it's well out of warranty, and mechanical keyboards are renowned for being tough (usually).
I've also researched the crap out of the Blackwidow, and I haven't seen anyone who actually owns one complaining about build quality. And, since I wasn't going to be paying for it, I had my parents get me one for xmas. It's here, about twenty feet away from me and I would love to give you a first hand review BUT I CAN'T FREAKING OPEN IT UNTIL THE 25TH BVASBNFENJKANJ VFNRAVNSNVASDFG

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Why can't you open it up since you already know what it is?

I think he means he can't buy online and that's all he can find locally.
