Just got my Das professional, it's awesome. Excellent build quality, and just generally fun to type on. I could never go back to using a normal keyboard now that I got this. Only problem that I have with it is that the usb ports on the keyboard are on the right side, meaning it gets in the way of my mouse.
Same here, it's really a nice keyboard. (I have the Ultimate, though) Do you have the ANSI or ISO layout?
ANSI layout.
I hate that :/
How "bad" is it really? Because I'm currently considering adding this one to my collection.
Not bad at all, it doesn't flex at all when typing or any regular use, though if you put a significant amount of force in the middle, it will go down about half a CM. As I said before, it's not much though I thought I would mention it.
Are all cherry keyboards mechanical?

Okay, thank you very much!
Are all cherry keyboards mechanical?
No. Keyboards with MX, MY and certain other switches by Cherry are.
i have a cherry MY keyboard in my collection but it's terrible to type in
but the keys are double shot so...
The MY are pretty hard to press, I don't like that at all.
Did anyone see the Black Widow on sale for $56 a few week backs?
The coupon code is used up now, but this was where I saw it.
Unbelievable,
I just met a guy, who apparently dosen't know how much a mechanical keyboard is worth in the market.
And selling his Das Keyboard for $20.

Depends on which version he sells. The ones before the Model S weren't that good...
steelseries makes a mechanical keyboard with a nice palmrest, but i have no idea what quality control steelseries has

I'm thinking about buying an Unicomp SpaceSaver keyboard, is it any good?
Just found a Apple Extended II, hooked it up, works and sounds great.

Yup, it's quite nice.
I just put one of these on my DAS btw.

Even better in RL, where the colors don't look as shitty as my cell phone portrays them...
The colors look kinda like this...
So... have any of you registered on Geekhacks forums yet? Gonna post a review of my Deck Legend finally, but I still need to find a tripod so I can get good pictures of the lighting without it blurring.

Anyone have tips to take sexy pictures with a crappy camera in low light conditions? Normal light conditions I can do fine.

I just did, looking forward to your review.

Also, what would you guys take as next addition to my collection (which as of now consists only of the DAS Model S Ultimate): A Unicomp Customizer, a Filco Majestouch or a Tenkeyless? Or perhaps even something entirely different?
And would be stupid (perhaps even decadent) to buy yet another keyboard although I really love my DAS and will keep using it, or can that be still explained with "collecting mania"?
Get one of each switch type.
Yeah I had that in mind too. I think I'll get the buckling springs first (Customizer) and then a Tenkeyless with MX Browns.

Get every type of switch in standard, tenkeyless and then compact. Don't mix, it will ruin the uniformity. (When you take pictures that is.) Be very systematic about it.
Just ordered the Customizer 105. Will get the Majestouch (Brown) next, following your advice, but I need money first :v:
I have an old Apple keyboard from about 05. It looks mechanical. Not sure though.

Thats what i'm using. It's average to type on, and after three years use it looks DISGUSTING because you can see all the dirt under the keys.
If a wireless model M replica existed I would totally buy it

That reminds me of the BBC MICROs we used to use at school, they had red function keys that always looked really dangerous to my 5 year old mind

2. Buy compressed air from electronics
3. pop off 4 keys
4. Blow air under keys

Thats what I did at first but because the whole case is clear you have to do it practically every week. Also due to the amount of times its had things spilt on it in parties etc stuff is pretty caked on there, so I'd have to take all the keys off and properly clean it, and I really cant be bothered
