I really want a new keyboard, one that is mechanical with a nice touch, but god damn they are expensive.
Price range? $50-100 has a lot of different keyboards available now compared to what they used to.
My price range for a keyboard right now would be around 50-60$ yeah

At that price range their aren't many options. The Scorpius M10 is $60. I'm not sure of any mechanical boards you could get new for that range. If your not gaming on it you could go with a Model M from Unicomp but thats closer to $70. If you are willing to buy from ebay or used you could look into the various cherry boards.
Look at this guide that is on geekhack.org about mechanical keyboards. It will help you learn what you want and what you can actually get in your price range.
i'm looking for a blue cherry switch keyboard, price doesn't matter all that much but should be under $200
i've been looking at the steelseries mechanical keyboard but i'm sure there's better at that price maybe?

I'd say you should go with a Filco Majestouch or a DAS Keyboard Model S. 4RT1LL3RY would probably also recommend the Leopold FC200R but it is not yet available outside of Asia (it soon will be though).
where can i order them other than their website (they only ship in US), newegg.ca doesn't have any
[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline]
nevermind, NCX has them
[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline]
wow they're out of stock in all canadian online stores that actually have them, this is painful
wow they're out of stock in all canadian online stores that actually have them, this is painful
I'm sorry to hear that. But at least the DAS should be in Stock pretty soon again. Or you'll wait for the Leopold, because EK ships to Canada with full warranty as well.
I've ordered an Unicomp SpaceSaver with hungarian layout, got the e-mail, everything went fine until they told me the shipping fees.
Approximately $150.00

Order cancelled :crying:
Wow, OK it's only 45 to Germany...
Wow, OK it's only 45 to Germany...
I'm pretty sure that extra 300km doesn't cost them $100 more.
Yeah, think so too. Rip off.
It funny really, a renaissance of mechanical keyboards is upon us. That and Christmas drained everyone's stock.
Indeed. Mechs seem to be "in" again. Which is not a bad thing imho.
The bad thing is that the trend can't keep up though. Mechanical keyboards last so much longer that the need will drop and the cycle of mediocre keyboard will repeat.
You might by a new membrane keyboard every year, I don't think you will with a mechanical.

I'm going to buy 3 until March...
My friend is looking for a tough-as-nails model M with a UK layout for £30, delivered. Any ideas?
Other than ebay or flea markets etc. - no.
Nothing beats the sounds of it.
I'm also considering getting a Realforce 105, more specifically this one:
http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=791
Only problem is the different switch weights, especially in the WASD cluster. As I don't touchtype and I'm a gamer, should I even consider this board?
Man, this new hobby of mine is going to make me poor.
I moved to a small town and there's this shop here...- I think I found about 23 - 26 of the keyboards you all want - but what do i look for - im deaf so sound is not gonna help me
they all have PS2 connections but quite a few are OLDER
Priced at 5$ each if I remember right - will ship and buy for people if they are indeed what your all looking for
