Oh. I didn't realise the Arctic 7 was as big as that.
Yeah, the pictures on newegg are really misleading. I was not expecting anything this size when I actually received it.
Copied from the Pictures of Your Computer thread: It's the best I can do without cutting holes in the motherboard tray... which I would do, but I have no tools :saddowns:
Case brothers!! My cable management isn't special enough to post. :(

Thats awesome, you even have the cords in the back rapped in the mesh stuff, I need to do that myself. My case is tidy but the back of my computer.... not even going there.

Pro tip : Face the connection end of your hard drive towards the front of the case, route cables behind the cage. Makes for much nicer cable management.
Kind off old, but the only ones I was able to find. Going to take some better ones some day.
Who needs cable management? :downs: My temps are all fine.
I did it mostly because mine has a window, and I can see inside the case every time I look at it.
anyone have any pointers on how to fix this mess?
yo
I think I said this before, but damn does that black cooler look awesome in that case.
i cut holes in my 300
i cut holes in my 300
what did you use?
I think I said this before, but damn does that black cooler look awesome in that case.
:c00l: [editline]08:26PM[/editline]
what did you use?
a jigsaw
anyone have any pointers on how to fix this mess?
There aren't much you can do there. Most of the pictures above have specialized cases with cable containment chambers behind the motherboard.
:c00l: [editline]08:26PM[/editline] a jigsaw
can you take pictures of where you cut? i need to get a generanl idea of what do before in case I manage to blow up my case.
@Makol Route the black/yellow power cable connected to the motherboard under the PSU then bundle it up on the far side, route only what you need up the front of the motherbard, behind the little space your graphics card leaves next to the slot. Tie-wrap the black/red cable coming from your rear fan to the back of the case, tightly. Route it this near side of the hard drive cage, put most of your power connectors round that way, tie wrap them together. Rotate your HDD 180 degree, route the SATA cable around the far side of the HDD cage. The main 20-pin connector is always a hassle. I sometimes hook it under the bottom right corner of the motherboard, so it sits as far back in the case as possible. Don't force and don't have it pulling on the motherboard, it should be long enough to fit in with a jiggle. Not much you can do about the optical drives, I'd suggest removing the top one and just trying to hide the remaining ones cables as much you can. You could attatch them to the 20-pin cable and have them just split off enough to reach the drives. The black cabling coming from the top is USB/etc I assume? See if you can't have go behind the motherboard and just pop out the bottom and curl into the ports. This thread makes me want to rip mine apart and re-do it all. It was once tidy, since then I've swapped stuff out and it's gotten damn messy =/ Maybe tomorrow.

Old PC is old. And dusty.
I cant help but cry at brown mobos
its been much much improved since this, just havent had a chance to take a pic
I cant help but cry at brown mobos
The fact that my mobo is brown and uses the intel 810 chipset and its actually the best gaming PC I have could make some hardcore gamers cringe. It can play Source games amazing as that sounds.
The fact that my mobo is brown and uses the intel 810 chipset and its actually the best gaming PC I have could make some hardcore gamers cringe. It can play Source games amazing as that sounds.
Yeah, on lowest settings. :smug:
The fact that my mobo is brown and uses the intel 810 chipset and its actually the best gaming PC I have could make some hardcore gamers cringe. It can play GoldSrc games amazing as that sounds.
fixed
anyone have any pointers on how to fix this mess?
You could mount your hard drive backwards then cut some holes in the back panel and route the cables behind the mobo.
My personal favorite cable management job of mine. Excuse the bad pictures, it was before i had a DSLR.
That is the coolest looking CPU cooler I have ever seen (pardon the pun).
That is the coolest looking CPU cooler I have ever seen (pardon the pun).
That comment came up every time I showed the picture. It came free with the CPU so I couldn't complain.
At first, I was like Where the Fuck are the cables, then I was like damn, nice cable management.
I'm going to redo all my managment. I may even take everything out and paint my interior black. Any suggestions for doing so?
