I am having a real tough time deciding between the iBuy Power and the Sager, or Clevo apparently

Please, please don't get a gaming laptop. For the same price you could probably get a ridiculously powerful desktop and an awesome 20 inch monitor, or perhaps 2 smaller ones. What's the point of a desktop replacement when the thing it's replacing is far superior?
I am getting a gaming laptop because i am going to be traveling a lot and cant bring my desktop
Clevo M571TU. Maybe it's getting a bit dated (it doesn't have one of those new mobile i7's) but I love mine. The 9800m GTX that was in it broke somehow and since the company I bought mine from went bankrupt warranty was out of the question. The hardest part was to just actually find the replacement GPU, the actual process to replace it was easy because of the MXM standard. Rocking a GTX280m now instead and new M571TU's come with this card already instead of the 9800m GTX. Clevo is a special case, they don't sell their laptops under their name, instead other companies buy them and brand them themselves. For example Sager does this, some of the iBuypower ones looked like they're actually Clevo's as well and even Alienware did this on some models. I like how discreet it looks, no fancy LED's or flames and stuff all over it. This picture is actually a M570RU but it looks the same except the orange frame thing is silver instead. That's what the 0 in the model number indicates so the M570TU is Orange while the M571TU is silver instead. Orange looks horrible in my opinion. *picture*
This. Companies who sell you custom builds on barebones notebooks usually have the best prices. I have an NP2096 from Sager, which is a Compal JHL90 build, I've been happy with it, and it had the best price/performance ratio of anything in it's price range at the time. Sager sells mainly Clevo now, but that's not the point. Still, if you're going for portable gaming, expect to pay a ton. There's no way of getting around that. If you aren't willing to spend a fair bit, then get a gaming desktop and a netbook or something. [editline]%[/editline]
no, or provide proof
Google it. I can flip over my computer right now and "Compal JHL90" will be on the underside. Sager and iBuyPower build on barebones notebooks.
Read above post :)
and cant bring my desktop
FIND A WAY But seriously, if you're gonna be travelling a lot, just get a normal laptop with a dedicated GPU. They're lightweight, thinner, and the battery won't run out in 15 minutes. Sure, you won't be able to run games on all high, but the experience of using it on the move will be much better.
Putting all Alienware hate completely aside. (Don't even bother replying to me saying "alienware sux lololol") The Alienware M17X is a good choice. I have had mine for a few months now, and I am 100% impressed. There has not been a single thing wrong, and I have thus far, not had to contact Dell support. The M17X is absolutely beautiful, to begin with. It is solid and heavy, it feels very sturdy and high quality. If you want a 1080p screen, buying the 1920 RGB LCD with dual ATI 4870s would get you amazing results. If you can't afford two, one 4870 would likely be good enough. The nVidia cards will offer higher framerate, but at a lesser quality. The 4870 will give you the true HD image on this machine. If I were to buy myself a new computer, I wouldn't have purchased this. My family pitched in, and my uncle wrote it off through his company. The price was reduced greatly because of that. I really do love my M17X, and if you can afford a very expensively built one, go ahead. If you're worried about the price, then I wouldn't suggest buying one... You really do pay for the brand with this one. But keep in mind that this is barely portable. It weighs in at around 11.5 pounds, the battery won't last you over an hour, and is really quite big. But it would be great for traveling from one place to another, and then setting up; such as taking it to a LAN.
