alright, I'll now be constructing my new desk over a period of couple weeks. I just went to the lumber store today and bought $350 worth of african mahogany. I also spent some money on poplar for supports (you don't see them so i thought cheaper wood would be fine). I'll post pics soon. What I'm planning to make is something along the lines of this, except a little shorter, and it will be a much richer, darker color. Also, the handles and drawers will be different, this is just an overall idea
How much experience in woodworking do you have because that's a rather hefty investment.
Im thinking of swapping the PC for a Mac Mini :S
Mac Minis are great and all, but why replace a good PC for a lower spec one? A iMac would look great in there, see if they are in your budget aswell

My father has been into it for about 20-25 years, and while I'm still around I'd figure he'd teach me. This is more of a guidance project though, he just tells me what to do and i do it. This is our workshop
I love diagonal ceilings like that, gives this comfy feel.
I guess they're alright, if you're 5 feet tall.

Just ordered myself the Datacolor Spyder3Elite color screen calibrator. I think I'll do a forum review of it once it arrives, can't wait. Been wanting one for years.

I had my MacBook since the aluminum ones were launched. I have said countless times I don't really have a preference between PCs and Macs. I only had my PC for about 4~5 months. and I do think the iPhone has poor to decent quality as far as cell phone cameras go.
Any tips on taking better photos? I've taken in the fact that, Flash=Bad. All I have for lighting in my room is a lamp on my desk. I got a 12mp kodak if that matters any :/
