Maybe he thought OP was "internet gaming" aka flash games.
Really
Really
It's what they think. From personal expirience.
OP didn't I make you a build not long ago you're still using that utterly shit PSU and off brand graphics card, and overclockers still has terrible support and you told me your budget was £700 now you're getting an 800 build? http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/8f573b74d03745ef99507aa5a0db34dc
Yeah but some of the parts where out of stock also heard nothing but good from overclockersuk
swap the PSU in my build with http://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-silverstone-strider-modular-80-plus-silver-88-eff-sli-crossfire-36db-eps-12v-135mm-fan then and a quick check on Google Product shows many poor reviews and I know from several friend's experiences that the support is shit, sending clearly faulty products back to them their prices are nothing special either, if you're going to be paying an average price you might as well be paying an average price somewhere you'll get good service [editline]18th December 2010[/editline] I've also heard a fair bit about them filling review sites with fake positive reviews to boost their scores up
I've used Overclockers many time over the past year and it's been fine. I'd say try them before listening to everyone.
I've used Overclockers many time over the past year and it's been fine. Why the shit would you ever recommend that for gaming. Seriously.
Why did you pick a Micro-ATX motherboard? You're not building a LAN box. The 570 is a great card, if you have to go with Nvidia then it's a good choice but in my opinion the competition from AMD's new 6xxx series will be dropping the price of that card by about 30-40$ in the next few weeks. The AMD Radeon 6950 is 50$ cheaper and comes very close to the GTX 570's performance and sometimes even goes a bit further.
It's what they think. From personal expirience.
I remember an IT guy at some small computer shop telling me the 4200 onboard graphics should do fine with newer games.

Can you name any difference between that and an ATX motherboard except the physical size?
I don't believe it.
I know, I was actually halfway through a response about how it would be shit before I looked for video evidence, then BAM!
I know, I was actually halfway through a response about how it would be shit before I looked for video evidence, then BAM!
Yep. It's like a smack in the face.

Now THAT'S a decent IGP.
i managed to convince him that the one he recommended is shit but he still thinks the graphics card is going out of date in 3 months and the motherboard is bottlenecking the card and cpu.
motherboards don't bottleneck.
well they can, e.g if you try to install a second high end graphics card in a PCI-E slot that runs at x4 or SATA 3gbps with the crucial SSDs but in general circumstances it's not an issue
I managed to convince him that the one he recommended is shit but he still thinks the graphics card is going out of date in 3 months and the motherboard is bottlenecking the card and cpu. Going to a comp shop tomorrow so we will speak to them
OH GOD how did I miss this? If it's not to late, don't go! Every computer shop WILL try to sell you a gigantic overpriced prebuilt. Or recommend you WRONG. For example, I had fully convinced a friend of mine to get a recertified(Good as new but been used before) 17" i7 MacBook Pro for 35% off and somehow the guy at the store convinced his parents to buy a Dell Dimenshit for more money that was worse in every way :smithicide: I'd even seen the MBP first hand and confirmed it was working :crying:
yeah, don't buy it, they're just telling you to get the prebuilt because they want profit
yeah, don't buy it, they're just telling you to get the prebuilt because they want profit
Yep. My local computer shop tries this with me all the time. "well herp di derp you should get this prebuilt! it has everything already in it, motherboard, processor, new 1tb harddrive, were phasing out of 500gb now so buy this instead of upgrading your current pc to get more preformance! it also comes with a graphics card built into the motherboard, should play games just fine but you may want a newer 9500gt for high end games!"

You can't upgrade nearly as well when you have an mATX board.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188051&cm_re=SLI_Micro_atx-_-13-188-051-_-Product Nothing wrong with MicroATX... That should be fine for anybody not looking for a SLI setup. 8 USB headers is fine, if I want more I just use a usb hub.
You wouldn't be able to fit four sticks of RAM and a decent after market cooler on that
You wouldn't be able to fit four sticks of RAM and a decent after market cooler on that
only if you're using tall heatspreaders, which also applies to a lot of ATX boards last I checked no clearance issues here with XMS3 and an NHU12P on a P55M-UD4
