I don't know about these reasons... I've been holding onto XP for a while, never touched vista, and I'm itching for an update.

I was like that too when it came to Windows, until I downloaded the Windows 7 RC.

<obligatory compwizii is dumb post>
<also, hows the fp wiki going ROFL>

I primarily use Mac OS X, I have been using Macs since I was 3. I got XP when Apple released Boot Camp for gaming. I never got into Vista since I purchased XP a month before Vista was released and I didn't feel like paying for a newer OS when I just bought the older one.

You didn't link to a SolderKnowsBest video...
That's AppleSoldier and he's a troll

I know I didn't link to a SoldierKnowsBest video, I linked to an example of a biased video.
[editline]10:04AM[/editline]
And I don't think any troll would put as much work into it as AppleSoldier does.

and people at my school: "Mac's dont get viruses"
but he's at a MAC AV site.

Oh right, my bad.
Here's my reason: Linux is better.
First of all I'm not a Mac user and secondly it was a fail joke for fuck sakes, don't get butthurt over it.
I meant the guy who wrote the article.
Because compatibility is more important than not using something unfinished. The latter is just lazyness of having to rewrite some code.
But it's unfinished so compatiblity has potential to dissapear. By sticking to the existing standard they are being compatible as possible (in theory). And it isn't lazyness, it's the MS release cycle. A revision like adding ODF 1.2 would have to be done in either another service pack, or in the next version of Office.
I wanted Vista but fuck mowing lawns, the deal was I'd mow my decrepit neighbor's lawn and weed-whack it for $35 and the faggot always gave me $20. But it sounds like it'll be worth it to get 7.

Seriously. I'm saving to buy me a Windows 7 soon. hope it will be worth it.
Also, I've heard it has problems with Steam? I don't know, someone enlighten me.
Runs fine for me.

Steam's ran fine in all builds of 7 for me. From 6519 to 7600 and everywhere in between.
Wait, they tell me to not buy win7 because leopard is coming out soon? Can I install leopard on a non-mac machine?

The writer of this article should be sued for sugesting piracy, you can run it on a non-mac machine. But it's ILLEGAL :smug:

You need to run the Steam.exe (assuming you are running a previously installed version) as admin, so it can create a service, and after that it is fine.
Hey guise! Let's just slap on a 30 dollar price tag for our new security updates and call it an upgrade! Yeah!
I think I can spare 19$ for Win7.

if you're talking about installing Snow Leopard on a non-Mac machine it's completely legal, you just can't resell it with Mac OS X still on it.

well Firefox likes maximizing the steam window when i minimize Firefox, but other than that it's fine.
Since when did Wired become mac fanboys?
But it's unfinished so compatiblity has potential to dissapear. By sticking to the existing standard they are being compatible as possible (in theory).
That's not even theory, that's them not wanting to be compatible. Don't be kidding yourself once more. Just admit the truth instead of dodging around it. If they wanted to follow basic programming practices they would have.
I meant the guy who wrote the article.
Lol sorry about that.

No. It needs to be hacked to run on a BIOS.
I got my Windows Vista Ultimate x64 free...
... What? It was a gift.
