I didn't say it is ANYWHERE IN MY POST. Why do you think that!!!! Read the edited post. Also: Makol, are you blind? I said, explain to him, a high(ish)end card doesn't mean your computer is fit to play a high end game, other specifications come into play too.
someone's over reacting a little... what I meant is that you weren't making much sense, and you still aren't
so then what is the extra 1gb on the 2gb card doing if it's not much different than the 1gb card?
it's providing an extra 1GB of VRAM but doing nothing to the power of the card you'll only see a difference in performance if you're doing something that would use the extra 1GB because the 1GB card would have run out of memory and what the hell man, calm down
Off the website Crysis - high with medium shadows Crysis Warhead - high with medium shadows Bioshock - highest setting call of duty 4 - highest setting legendary - highest setting testdrive unlimited - highest setting command and conquer 3 - medium setting That will do me :D
At a VERY low resolution. Unless it's a laptop. And 10 FPS is not playable :v:. Better save up for something else, and still saying: 9600gt or Radeon 4670. Great cards for the budget man.
Refer to my post above. Everybody stop arguing, this is why some people avoid FP >_< Blackwater, that wasn't at you^^^ :) Also, a person who makes sense!!! That's what I've been saying, high will not run with other low specs, just because a card is slightly capable.
it's providing an extra 1GB of VRAM but doing nothing to the power of the card you'll only see a difference in performance if you're doing something that would use the extra 1GB because the 1GB card would have run out of memory and what the hell man, calm down
ohhhhhhh. so if I get the 512mb 4650 I won't see much improvement in the 1gb version? or am I mistaken?
Dude, again (not only you), stop arguing. Just-Drop-It.
wait, why are you telling me to calm down TheMadness? I'm just really confused :frown: @ ODSTDare: you're the getting one who is getting all "RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR #%@$%@$%##%$@% SGDSRKDGSFKSGDFTDRHGR" on everyone else... MAYBE you should "just-drop-it"
Okay, how about we all drop what happened, and start over? This is just going to get out of hand if somebody flames back, it's going to turn into a spam(more) fest.
Okay, how about we all drop what happened, and start over? ok. so wait, the OP is expecting the 9400 gt to allow him to play crysis on high settings? does he understand system requirements? they're on the back of the box for a reason...
Look back, I've been saying drop it for about 5 posts...This is why people avoid FP.
ohhhhhhh. so if I get the 512mb 4650 I won't see much improvement in the 1gb version? or am I mistaken?
unless you do something which would need the extra 512, which with a 4650/70 is doubtable you only really need 1GB when playing at resolutions of 1900x1080 and above
unless you do something which would need the extra 512, which with a 4650/70 is doubtable
I'm just going to use for light gaming since college decided I can't have any free time :frown: I just play mainly Source games. I may attempt Crysis but I'm fine with low/med setting, since my MacBook manages to play in on low/med @ 800x600 with 25fps average with the 9400m. as long as the game runs I'm happy  my monitor only goes up to 1280x1024 since it's quite old.
ack just noticed you aren't the OP 4650/70 should be fine
it lags like hell on my nvidia 7500LE
Lag is != FPS drop, just thought i'd through that in there.
Right i only want it to run games on any graphics level, i said the card CAN run it on high im not saying i am going to, i just want an fps boost :)
ack just noticed you aren't the OP 4650/70 should be fine
lol, ok well thanks anyways. but should I just get the 512mb version? or spend the extra $7 and get the 1gb?
just get the 512
Saints Row 2 is a pretty bad port, it runs like ass on my 4890, even on medium settings. Judge your GPU against solid titles like HL2, CoD4 and Crysis.
Yeah i heard it was terrible, im interested to see how it will run with the new card.
lol, ok well thanks anyways. but should I just get the 512mb version? or spend the extra $7 and get the 1gb?
Get the 1GB.
4650 or 4670
Get the 1GB.
I'll just get the 1gb since it's only $7 more. but only if it's in stock when I get the store.
Right i only want it to run games on any graphics level, i said the card CAN run it on high im not saying i am going to, i just want an fps boost :)
We all told you that you could get a larger FPS boost by getting another card, but it's up to you. But saving up and getting the 9600GT or especially the AMD HD 4670 would put your FPS out of what you're used to. But of course, the CPU may bottleneck those. The 9400 is good for casual gaming and watching HD movies. So overall it's okay for the price.
But saving up and getting the 9600GT or especially the AMD HD 4670 would put your FPS out of what you're used to.
what he wants to upgrade, not get a card of similar performance
what he wants to upgrade, not get a card of similar performance
Yeah? Those cards are much better than what he's proposing. He has an 7500LE right now, and want's to upgrade to an 9400GT. Just suggesting the two better budget cards that will do his games and not be a power supply problem.
I doubt a 4650/70 will be a PSU problem if he's already able to run a mid-range dedicated GPU, but that's why I've also been asking for PSU info
How well would duel 9800gtx fare with crysis?
Dual 9800gtx in SLI? I had that, about 20-40 fps on high and with post processing and shaders on very high, resolution at 1920x1200. I just got rid of the second card, it was not worth it. Though the improvement in left 4 dead was awesome :v:. Actually.. Nothing fares well with crysis, unless you're a rich bastard. (atleast if you want everything at very high, and still play at your highest available resolution)
Well the card arrived, and its AMAZING, runs all my games on high and highest res NO problem at all!
