Got a new issue after cleaning my GPU fan
im not sure if its ram or GPU related but well
whatever the temp goes to 53C if it goes any bit higher my whole PC freezes(sounds work fine tough) and i gotta hard restart it, this started to happen yesterday and now happends with pretty much anything GPU intense(cant have UDK and Adobe flash open at the same time or else in a bit it will freeze)
what could be the cause of the problem?
I live away from my home for extended periods during both summer and winter.
Are you going to game on it?
Are you going to game on it?
Yes.
Should I be worried about these max temps? It happens when I play BF3 and possibly when playing Skyrim. I'm using a Hyper 212 heatsink & fan.

It is recommended to keep your CPU below 60° for a normal lifespan, however it is perfectly save to be anywhere up to 100

Below 60? That's a tough goal.
Pretty sure it's the value they measure the lifespan with at Intel.
Again, this only happens in games and not while idle, is it safe or not?

So I am looking at a server specifically hosting game servers these our the specs, I can get the HDD space increased but before I purchase I am not the best with server specs so I was wondering what anyone thought here the amount of 'Source Game Servers' could be hosted on one of those servers.
Can anyone help?
So for some reason I can't lock my PC using the Windows key + L anymore. All that happens is that a little sound plays. Help?
The problem with PCI cards is their locations. You can not exactly get a spare USB cable and re-position your PCI card. So USB is probably a nice way to go- and cheaper, even with an extension card
Any idea what usb wireless adapter I should get? I just tried the netgear WNDA3100v2 that we already have. It works great. Allows me to use channel 6 were as my phone only allows me to use 149. So going from 36% to 83% signal stength is a great improvement. I want to make sure the adapter I get can use channel 6. The WNDA-3100 is only 40$ on newegg but I am sure there are ones just as good but cheaper. My budget is 60$ for the adapter.
Now that I can actually access the router. I just checked that channel 6 is 2.4ghz and channel 149 is 5ghz.

Apparently Intel is bad at it, since even my NH-D14 can't keep my 2600k at stock under 60c under load.

I recommend this to everyone: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166056&Tpk=Rosewill%20N180UBE
I get fantastic signal and bandwidth.

Sorry for quoting this again but, I'm worried.

I'm currently dual booting Windows 7 with Windows 8. I originally gave Windows 8 50 GB because I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but now I really love it and I want to use it more so I'm trying to add on another 150 GB to my Windows 8 partition.
Now, I thought I could just go into Windows 7 and shrink the partition, then go into Windows 8 and Expand the partition. When I right click the Windows 7 Partition, it gives me the option to Expand, but when I right click Windows 8, the option is grayed out.
How should I give myself more Windows 8 space?

75c is a little high but seems to be fine. If you are that worried try dusting out your machine(10c difference for me) and/or re-seating the heatsink with new thermal paste.

I'm not sure that this is possible at all, but you should try GParted
I have a Sony camcorder with an SD slot. I happen to have a MicroSD->SD adapter lying around and I was wondering if the camera could properly read/write to a MicroSD card put into that adapter and into the camera?
After buying a new case, PC stopped exiting sleep mode when I press the power button. Instead, it does a normal booting sequence. How do I alter that?

I've heard that fucking with Windows partitions in GParted can lead to broken Windows installs.

Wow, really? I'm on a stock 2500k with the stock heatsink and I get a max of 58C on load

The most it will normally balls up is the boot files or the bootloader itself, which can be fixed if you have a Windows disk or manage to access the restore tools on one of the partitions.
Gonna risk sounding like a complete dumbass, but is this psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817154015 completely obsolete now? I'm looking to get a new mobo, cpu, and hd, but I'm on a super budget so I'm reusing everything I can.
Can someone recommend me a Graphics card for around £120?
I'm thinking of buying a HD7750 but i'm wondering if an extra £40 could invest in something a bit more futureproof.

it's terrible don't use it
If it works it would... work, but looks like it is a hair away from frying everything.
After looking at my PC with Speccy I decided to do the same with my laptop. And the CPU temp get's REALLY high. I just booted it up and it was at 60 degrees before taking the screencap.

At this moment it's sitting at 50 degrees. Is this normal for a Laptop?
Laptop in question is an HP G60-530CA.

Yes thats the point of the adapter.

Doesn't it also depend on air flow in your case? And I'm pretty sure BRT overclocks, just like me.
How can I play my windows 7 audio over my microphone? Nothing i do seems to work with this one.
Your microphone isn't a speaker and stereomix doesn't use your microphone.
