He means stereomix, no need to be sarky.
Just brought a Intel i7 3770 LGA1155 to go with my Gigabyte Z77-D3H mobo, I have a problem, only the top 2 USB ports seem to work, the rest don't - or do not seem to be detecting my mouse and keyboard.
Anyone know why this could be happening?
Is there something I should have done on BIOS?
What could I have forgotten or done wrong when installing the hardware into my PC?
7950 (XFX ghost one) or GTX 670 reference? Reference 670 is just within budget at £20 more.
Unsure on if the 670 will be loud as it's reference, sound is a big issue, the 7950 should also have more overclock headroom thus going by benchmarks, should have better performance.

They are both on par, but I would get the 670. People are going to complain saying it's so loud, but until they have one, they can't really talk. I have mine overclocked past a 680, and created fan profiles so that under load it stays under 60c, which you don't need to do. Yea some points it gets a little loud, but with headphones on, can't even tell. If I kept it at 70c, I wouldn't hear it at all.

The 1gb difference (7950 - 3gb, 670 - 2gb) won't make a difference will it at 1080p? I'd expect not but I've been hearing that the new engines and whatnot eat up VRAM.

Not even a little bit. By the time you need 3gb+, the card will need to be upgraded anyway. 2gb is perfect for now, when 4gb is needed, grab another 670 and you're good to go.

HardOCP only saw a difference when running triple 1080p's with high AA.
the 6xx handle Ram better than the 7xxx's it seems.
Cheers for the replies, I really should have just asked this to begin, but I'm basically deciding on:
3570k + 7950
or
2550k + GTX 670
My budget doesn't allow a 3570k with the 670, I could wait a week for my next paycheck but I don't think I can actually wait a week, I'd be bored beyond tears.

I'd wait a week and get the 3570k and a bigger psu, in case you want to sli/crossfire later.

But what would I do for a whole week without any money!? I can always upgrade the PSU later if need be, I need to use that money come paycheck day on an aftermarket heatsink, hence the none-OEM processor.

Up to you. Both cards are good.

I can't really make a bad choice, I'm just very bad at making decisions that are very trivial most of the time, and I've just realized that I won't have money left over from my next pay after buying a passport.

Both cards are good, and both cpu's are good.
The 670 is about 5-10% faster than the 7950 in a certain games and situations, and I can confirm that it overclocks pretty well, but costs more.
The 3570k uses less power, is a little faster, and has pcie 3.0 support, which isn't needed because gpu's don't saturate a 2.0 lane, but the 3570k will run hotter when overclocked.
I would want the 3570k just because it's the latest tech, etc, because I'm just like that.
One last thing then, if I were to get the 2550k/670 (with a Z77 board), would PCI-E 2.0 limit the 670 at all compared to 3.0? Even a little bit? The bandwidth isn't there but there may be something I'm missing.

No, as I said before. Most cards won't even get near the 2.0 bandwidth, let alone 3.0. The only thing I know that can saturate a 3.0 lane is a expensive ssd card.
Can you guys help me find a laptop for my dad?
He needs one that is cheap (~450$), has a 15 inch screen, Windows 7, and a MacBook-ish keyboard.
That's known as a chiclet keyboard.

Is it just me or are ratings broken again?
EDIT: Turns out they aren't, I just disabled Javascript for some reason.

Nope, just gave you a winner.

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not but
Is there any reason why some older games like Killing Floor run at 20fps when there's a lot of shit going on (60fps when there's almost absolutely nothing going on)
But when I play something like Syndicate, the lowest it goes is like 35fps, League of Legends never goes below 40fps or something, and most source games go down to 30fps at the bare minimum?
My pc specs:

run HW Monitor in the background while playing, check the max temps when you're done

Which one do I trust? Also no idea how it went up to 67c since I haven't played any game today. I'm worried, should I reset my OC?
If I install windows on SSD and use programs installed on HDD will the programs I use on the HDD operate faster?

Apparently these vidya cards are on sale, and I've been needing an upgrade for a while. I've heard that the GTX 550 Ti is very good, but I'm not familiar with brands. Is any brand superior to another?

They are all pretty good, but I like evga's warranty. Just read the reviews, everybody makes a bad card from time to time.

550 Ti is a terrible card, you'd be better off with an HD 7770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127664
Can someone recommend me a wireless router under £100 excluding VAT with good coverage? with dd-wrt or Tomato support if possible

Doesn't support dd-wrt or Tomato. This seems to be the only custom firmware I found for it.
I don't have experience on it (I have the same router) but it seems interesting.
