wait hold on, won't games and programs supposedly run faster if you install it on an SSD drive?

They load quicker, but actual performance of the game/program won't be better, I actually didn't even see much difference in load speeds when loading games from a 7200rpm drive to a Samsung 830 RAID-0 setup, it makes a night and day difference in loading programs/windows but for games I was disappointed.

Same, I put Battlefield 3 on my Agility 3, but load times are still pretty slow. Better, but still slow. Photoshop starts up in 3 seconds though. Exceptional improvement.

I can't see a reason why though, does the game load into your RAM from the first load or something and then harddrive speed is irrelevant?

Yeah programs like Sony Vegas and the Adobe Master Collection definitely benefits from being installed on an SSD, of course
But alright. I accidentally installed origin on my primary drive (SSD) so I'll have to play it from there. Just wondering if it does anything besides make the load times a bit better but apparently not that much.

Nope SSD's are only capable of improving load times. That's the only real benefit, period. And I'm pretty sure you can change where Origin installs games in the options without uninstalling it.

Yes you can, I'd also change where it stores the downloaded installer too, as to not waste storage space on your SSD, someone needs to come in here and explain why games only recieve a very small loading time decrease from SSDs that usually have
5x the read speed and an almost instant access time compared to a HDD

I did change the download storage before I downloaded the game but I couldn't find any options as to where to install the game yet.
I think I have an infected windows file. If I repair the os through the installation CD, will that affect anything on my computer or will my harddrive be completely wiped?
sfc /scannow
Can anyone recommend a good game controller for Windows 7 64bit? I'm looking for something to play FIFA, FPSs, and other games with controls poorly designed for the keyboard and mouse. Thanks!
I'm curious if Best Buy is trying to pull a fast one on me. I told them that I'd wipe the HDD and put Linux on this laptop. Then I asked about the Windows 7 key. They said that the product key on the OA sticker is not compatible when you try and re-install it via CD or USB and that the only way is to not wipe a certain partition and to use the recovery button to reset to factory defaults.
I searched around and I find out that the product key will only work on this laptop and nothing else, but I want to know what the real deal with the product keys and the OA stickers since I mainly deal with Linux and don't know much about OS product keys.
Is a CAS latency difference of 1 really worth the $11 difference in price between these two:
CAS latency 9: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428
CAS latency 8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445
And is there much of a difference between the Hyper 212+ and Hyper 212 Evo?

No, do it yourself if it bothers you.

in command prompt?
What will that do?
It verifies that windows files aren't missing or corrupt.

What the fuck is this, why does it start with Skype, why does it grind my system to a halt when it runs, and how do I permanently disable/remove it?
Google isn't helpful, all I understand is it has something to do with Internet Explorer's protected mode. Since I don't use IE, I don't mind if I have to cripple IE to disable this.
Should I get this monitor? If not, which one should I get? (Has to be 1080p and have 2ms response time.)
Acer has pretty low quality panels in their cheaper stuff, response time doesn't make any noticeable difference in TN panels less than like 8ms for most people.
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/52112/Asus-LED-monitor-24-inch-VE248H-widescreen-Full or http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/54396/Dell-LED-Monitor-24-inch-P2412H-Widescreen-Full will give you a much better picture and color reproduction.
So I scanned using the command prompt and I do have corrupt windows files. However, I tried getting into the CBS file it left me in the log but it's not letting me, giving me 'Access Denied'. How do I get in?

Derp, nevermind. Had to run notepad as administrator.
Anyway, I have no idea what I'm looking for in the log. Could someone enlighten me?

Xbox 360 controller or Ps3 dual shock 3 controller, both are compatible with the same games and both work brilliantly on windows 7, it comes down to preference of the controller (I'm personally partial to the Ps3 controller having grown up with them) but to each his own, there are other controlls that support Xinput but I'd stick to the 360/Ps3 ones.
Does anyone know if the Gigabyte version of the 660 Ti will have display port like the 670?
Anyone knows a software that allows me to use proxy to play games in other regions??
Thanks in advance

Most if not all modern graphics cards have display port. While no official news has been released of any other 6xx series cards afaik, it's safe to assume it will indeed have one.

Cool, I know the REV2.0 of the 570 had one, but the 560 (Ti or otherwise) only had DVI and mini HDMI and I'm not going to bother with mini HDMI. My monitor does even work at the maximum res with HDMI.
Of course within 24 hours of ordering my Corsair M4 it goes on sale $15 off. Hurray for Newegg support and account credit!
I've just had an incredibly annoying bug reappear

It's a little floating semi-transparent thingy, which you can click or anything. It happened when I was pasting something to windows explorer, and now wont go away (not even if I put computer to sleep). The only way to fix it is restart, but I somehow manage to recreate it whenever I use the context menu.
Anyone know of a way to get rid of it without restarting?
Has anybody else run into issues with the latest Firefox update?
I am suddenly unable to start the browser at all without it crashing, all addons and shit have been disabled and I removed all old cookies, still no dice.
The odd part is that I can reinstall the browser and it will work for one session, trying to open it again afterwards leads to the same crash.
Any help would be awesome, Chrome just isn't working out for me.
Edit: New development, I can get it to open by checking for Flash player updates in the control panel. It opens firefox to the main Flash page and works until I need to open a new session. Now I'm even more confused.
Why the christ can't I open Firefox normally?
Would an i5 2500k bottleneck a gtx 570?
What would be your recommendation for a very good graphics card? Would maybe 2 550 TI SLI'd together beat out a 560 TI? Or would it be more worth it to spring a bit more cash for a 600 series? Graphics cards are harder to choose (for me at least) than other computer components.
Money is not a huge issue, but I'd rather not spend way more for a 600 if 2 500's or even 2 400's work much better.
