Too late now, installed vista on my partition.
How do I get perfect 1440x900 on VGA? I'm currently using 1366x768 with "Medium" DPI and it looks terrible. I have to use VGA in order for my PS3 to be connected to the DVI port, so I can't use DVI. The NVIDIA CP allows me to use 1440x900 but it's all letterbox and I can't see the tabs I have open on GChrome.
You could get a wireless adapter from the 21st century.
I heard that VGA supported 16:10 somewhere. Should I just nab a HDMI->VGA (For the PS3) adapter at Best Buy or is there a better way for this.
Does IB need thermal paste from a i5-3570k to a hyper 212? The IB box didn't come with paste, and its a rebuild using the 212 so it has old paste applied to it.
What's a normal temperature range for a 560 TI? I played Dead Island and logged the temp. Minimum was 43'C, max was 81'C. It stays around 70 consistently in games.

Graphics cards have a tolerance of more than 100
I'm not really sure where to post this but i want to get some insight before i start dumping money. Is a Nexus 7 tablet any good? I just want to use it for study purposes it is 317 in Aus (can possibly haggle down to 300). Is there any other tablet that you guys would recommend over it without going too overboard with money. Sorry if a bit vague

Sorry if a bit vague
The N7 is the best tablet in it's price range by a wide margin. It's a nice size and has powerful hardware, along with full Google access by default (Unlike the Kindle Fire). It's up to you to determine whether you actually need a tablet, but you seem set on it, so I'd recommend it.
Can someone help me find a microphone for < $25? Nothing special, just using it to communicate in video games and mumble. Not a headset. I want a clip on or on desk, something that I don't have to hold in my hand so I can play. I'd prefer Best Buy since I have a gift card.
How well will a 8600 GT with 512mb of vram handle Physx?

Thanks for your input its hard as a student making informed consumer choices when money is so precious.
Has anyone put Mass Effect stuff all over their Nexus 7 yet?

With a Transformer Prime, the pros/cons are: +(?)Big screen, more space for typing +Better battery +Ability to get the keyboard dock, which is a keyboard and battery -Expensive, especially compared to the N7 -Much larger. Not too difficult to carry around, but you can't just slip it into a large pocket or whip it out quite like the N7. Also heavier and gets tiring on your arms if you're holding it -Doesn't have Jelly Bean yet. Probably irrelevant because ASUS is fast with getting updates out, but the Nexus 7 already has Jelly Bean and will get all updates before the Prime Overall, I'd say to get the Nexus 7. You pay near half (in your case) of what the Prime would cost, but you still have the same functionality.

What's a good program to completely format a drive so that you can't recover the data? Wingless suggested boot and nuke but you can't specify drives, it just wipes all of them, I just want to wipe a storage drive.
Unplug the drives you don't want wiping??
Unplug the drives you don't want wiping??
That's some logic, cheers.
Just do some god old DoD with a program you start out of windows/linux.
I've lately been having a small issue with my computer: one minute my FPS in all games is fine but the next minute and up until the moment I restart the computer, my FPS is just horrible (1-5 fps). I've checked all the temperatures (HDDs, CPU, GPU, motherboard) and they are exactly the same as they have always been (I also regularly dust the computer), idle-gaming respectively: CPU 35-50, GPU 30-60, HDDs 30 and the motherboard 29 degrees. A friend told me that it might be my GPU's voltage regulator module ("VRM") overheating, but I have no idea what that is really nor have I ever heard of it. So has anyone experienced anything like this before? I built this computer myself so should I change thermal paste or anything?
I can't justify buying the FX 4100 anymore since the price was bumped up. That being said I'm on something of a budget here. If I get a decent motherboard (say, z77 for future upgrade to a better chip and stuff) and a i3 2100, will it blend? I mean, can I play games now and a few months from now. Let's assume the rest of the computer holds up performance wise. Yes, yes. Budget and Z77.

I plug our old drives into the dock and kill it with Zeros.
currently im running a 560ti With a 955 black edition x4 3.2 and im doing pretty solid with my FPS however i would like to start running 3 monitors and was looking to upgrade my GPU, so i was thinking a 670 would do it for me. Any opinions?
I only download stuff at 1mb/s when I should(i'm paying) for a 10mb/s connection, not sure how to fix this. what do I do?
Call your ISP and tell them.
I only download stuff at 1mb/s when I should(i'm paying) for a 10mb/s connection, not sure how to fix this. what do I do?
Make sure that it says 1Mb/s instead of 1MB/s.
Does anyone know of any good external soundcard (USB) for Audiophiles like me? I'm planning an ITX computer that won't have expansion slots for my internal soundcard.. I've been looking at Creative X-Fi HD, but I'm still not sure..
