Yeah, i'm getting the naga molten so I think it'd seem a bit silly to have a pulsating red mouse and a blue keyboard, but if push comes to shove, i might have to just get another mouse, cause I don't think a naga is needed badly, as i'm left handed for christ sake and it makes pressing the mouse buttons on the side harder for me, i'm just put off the Anansi cause it's dome not mechanical, and that matters quite a bit, does it not? The Gigabyte Osmium http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4179#kf looks good, even though it's 130 quid roughly, apparently it's a good keyboard. Red cherry switches, usb 2/3 ports, macro keys etc etc all that fun stuff. I think it's just cause i'm redocorating everything and want a nice, sharp looking room. It's a tip as it is now.
If you're going for sharp/clean then you really want something like a filco tenkeyless/leopold (very affordable) and a dapper looking mouse with as few lights as possible, makes for a much more mature looking minimalist desk, rather than having all of your peripherals glow all the time which ruins the coziness and looks tacky. I'm not trying to be pretencious, but I've been through that stage of wanting lights and gaming things but it really gets old once the novelty wears off, it's all personal preference and I respect that, but think months down the road and what you're actually going to be using it for, rather than wanting what looks the best now. And I've not once found a need for macro keys having used a G15 for the best part of three years, I had one key launch WoW back in the day but that's about it.
That sir, is a very wise answer. I've also changed my mind, I don't see the point in getting a naga myself now as i'm capable without currently, so now if anyone would wish to help, I need a good keyboard and mouse in the range of £160 in total. Took a look at the Filco Tenkeyless just now, It seems a bit weird to me as there's no numpad, and it's a bit short. also, I know I know it's razer and some people seem to hate their stuff just because it's expensive but, I quite like the blackwidow ultimate stealth, I think £90 is decent for a well made and high quality keyboard. I think I MAY get that, unless someone else can say otherwise of course.

Why the fuck is toner so expensive? Printer: 120$ Toner: 104$ Are other alternatives good (refilled and/or refurbished) enough for normal usage? Obviously HP says no, but that doesn't say much. Not like I'm printing high quality stuff, just text.
Because toner will last longer than any ink cartridge you can find.
Starcraft runs with funny colors. Messing with the compatibility settings doesn't help. any solutions? Also Sim City Classic only works in 16 bit mode. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium in 64 bit mode.

It works! It's a bit irritating not being able to tab out of the game though.

Is it possible to configure µtorrent so it downloads all files to harddrive C (which is my SSD) and then move everything to a selected folder, without having to relocate & recheck everything again? I want to do this because I want to maximize my download speed. By directing the files to an SSD I could achieve a few more Mb/s, but I don't want to keep them there due to small space.
If it's this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127675 then when the fan ramps up it gets pretty fucking loud. I have a Fractal XL case which is supposed to be pretty good at suppressing noise, but shit it sounds like a turbine when I play anything intensive.
Yeah, it's that one. I'm putting it in a Corsair Obsidian 550d, they are supposed to be good at supressing noise too. I'm used to a 9800gtx though, noise wont be a problem for me, there was jsut a bunch of wining about noise in some buyer's reviews. You have a 6 Gigabit connection? I doubt you even get close to what your hdd can do.
Alright, so a few of my friends all decided to build computers this week. All 3 of them are DOA in some way. Two of them have a defective motherboard (Asrock and ASUS, surprisingly), and we have no idea what's wrong with the other one. It freezes/BSODs during every attempt at installing an OS, and swapping/removing RAM has done nothing. We'll try switching out his RAM with some known working RAM, but if that fails, would it be the motherboard? That board is ASRock as well. We can't get anywhere installing Windows 8, so we tried Windows XP, which gives a PCI.sys BSOD (Which apparently is a totally different problem, related to Windows XP being incompatible with modern hardware without Service packs.
All 3 DOA suggests a common denominator.
You have a 6 Gigabit connection? I doubt you even get close to what your hdd can do.
Well I wanted to see if there was any difference at all first hand though. But you're right, I don't think I have that bandwidth either way :v:

Well, its a laptop, you cant really change anything but as far as laptops go it looks pretty good. All I can say is unless it really needs to be a laptop, get a desktop. Im assuming mobility is very important if you are buying a laptop, but if you are just going to have it in one place, get a desktop.

I recorded a bit of gameplay of payday(with dxtory). After I render it, you can see horizontal lines around movement. I've heard this doesn't occur whenever you burn it or play on a tv. But my question is: Will you be able to see it on youtube? Edit: Sony vegas 10.0 (x64) Dxtory Also, I'm new to this. Me and some friends just wanted to upload some fun footage.
Post your render settings and program you used.
I currently have this webcam that I use as a microphone to chat with friends and the like. While it works, it generates one hell of an echo as reported by friends and by testing it on Steam. So is there any decent, relatively cheap microphone that won't produce the same problem? I'm not a huge fan of headsets, so those are out of the question.
Post your render settings and program you used.
Put them in my first post.
Use Lagarith as the codec.
According to this the my CPU temperature should not exceed 62C, however when stress testing (using OCCT) my temps go up to 86 degrees (I configured OCCT to stop the test if 85 degrees was exceeded). I'm using a stock cooler on default clocks. Should I worry? I didn't notice any system instability at all during the test.
Does anyone here know how I would go about playing an MP3 through my Mic in-game using Virtual Audio Cable? Just downloaded VAC and quite frankly I'm stumped as to how to use it. [editline]5th August 2012[/editline] Worth mentioning that I will also need to talk on Skype simultaneously
You are killing your hardware really fast.
