I can get an XFX Radeon 7770 GHz Edition (Core edition too i guess) for $125 for sure from newegg next week, or if this guy on craigslist doesn't sell it before then, a 5870 for $140. Should i go for the 7770 if the craigslist guy sells his 5870 or wait for another really good deal? Mainly going to be playing DayZ, BF3 maybe.
5870 is quite a lot better, about the same as a 560/560 Ti, I'd go for that assuming the features/effeciency of the newer cards don't interest you.
Uhh, help. I can use my mouse and keyboard in theBIOS of P8Z77-v Pro, but when I'm at the windows 7 installation screen none of them work. USB legacy thingie is enabled.
Quick question, I've been at this all morning and it's been 6 hours now and still no luck. I want to get both my NICs working with ESXi Server, I've tried some commands and it's recognizing the NIC but I can't get it to display the NIC in vSphere Client, Or on the actual Server.
1) Open some YouTube video in Chrome. I know for a fact this one has sound, but really any video you know has sound will be alright. 2) Open the Windows Volume thingy. 3) At the bottom, click "Mixer". 4) Check if any application (ANY) is muted. Don't just check Chrome, because I'm pretty sure Chrome's Flash plugin would show up as a separate thing.
Hmm, it isn't muted. Fixed it, just re-installed flash. Thanks anyway.
I was running Arma II on my computer earlier and (I think) it overheated and shut off. Every time I get to the 'Starting Windows' screen is BSoD's and says unfixable hardware error has occurred. I googled it from my moms laptop (which I'm on right now, it is a really awful thing), the results I got said that error can be caused from overheating so I let it sit for 30 minutes. When I booted it up then I got all the way to my desktop, but the moment I try to start a browser it gives me that BSoD message again. Should I just give it another hour or so or should I bring it to someone who knows what they're doing?
Give it 24 hours, then take it. If it's fine after 24 hours do some dust clearing too.
I didn't want to make a thread in technical support so I'll just ask here. I opened a .lnk with notepad because I thought it was a txt document I changed to .lnk so I could rename it back later but when I opened it, all my icons on my desktop turned into notepad icons. Is there any way to change it back? Everything opens up the text document even though its named to the regular program (Like if I clicked gmod on my desktop it opens up the document I opened earlier) [t]http://i.imgur.com/Cy8U3.jpg[/t]
That is...interesting. Did you fix it? If not, download http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/unassoc_1_4.zip. Run it, find the .lnk file type and click the "Remove File Association". Might need to do a bit more than that, we'll see. I know you can change file association in windows but I don't know how to set it to open with nothing...
I've never had any issues with my computer before, but today, was watching a youtube video, and I got a driver error message from my GPU. Now there are artifacts all over the screen on boot and on windows, and it randomly reboots. Its FUBAR'd right?
Figured I ask here. I'm looking to change my private and personal email address from hotmail to a different host. This is going to be a massive and drastic change. Been looking at Gmail but what reliable email hosts would you recommend?
Go private domain or just go gmail really.

Very useful.

I just got a new laptop (lenovo ideapad y580), and whenever I play games hooked up to the charging cable, they run fine at a good framerate, but when I take the laptop off the cable, the games run the same, but every 10 or so seconds my framerate goes down to like, 5-10 fps for a few seconds. I've checked my power options, and set it to "high performance", but nothing changes. Specs: Windows 7 i7 quad core @ 2.3 Ghz 8 Gbs RAM GTX 660M Anyone know how I can get rid of this? it doesn't happen on older games (like Morrowind), just newer ones.

If you don't have such things, or you just don't want to bother setting up a mail server (because it can be a bitch) then go with GMail.

I'm running a command-line dedicated server on Ubuntu server edition, and was wondering if there was a way I could see users IP's connecting/disconnecting from the server, or a form of log system? I'm trying to root out a few nasty dos'ers

quick question, im switching from an asus board to an msi board soon (both have the same z77 chipset) and was wondering what i would need to do / uninstall. As far as i know I only need to uninstall the motherboard drivers that i first installed (chipset, lan, audio, etc.) and i may possibly need to reauthenticate windows. is that it?

So I was planning on purchasing this monitor. I have been using Dell IPS Monitors for years and never had a problem but are there any other option that might be more price affective?
-snip missed the contrast ratio completely-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009266 free shipping too [editline]10th August 2012[/editline] and it's like a third of the price, same specs too.
This might be price affective but you are paying for what you get in this situation.
Think krazipanda missed the differences in panel.
For whatever reason, when I launcher Garry's Mod or Team Fortress 2, windows aero gets disabled. I haven't tried other source games, but I assume it would be the same. I have no clue why this is happening all of the sudden, but it's annoying as hell. Any ideas?
This might be price affective but you are paying for what you get in this situation.
LG makes a budget ips for 200 that swivels, tilts, etc, but some people reported minor bleeding.
What would be a good Android phone to get for around $60-$70?
What would be a good Android phone to get for around $60-$70?
Off contract? Good luck, would you buy used?
I was planning to buy it with a contract. My parents are currently thinking of getting me this phone called the ZTE Score from Cricket, but people on the Android thread told me it was horrible.
