Get a set of rubber coasters for sliding furniture.
They should dampen the vibrations a bit.
I'm about to order a 660 Ti, but I've read things that suggest I should be worried about the smaller memory bus width (192-bit)...is it really that big of a deal?
It will affect memory bandwidth, but it performs well for the cost and it includes Bl2 for free.

Would some rubber tiles do the trick?

I would think, I did the same thing for my desktop with rubber stoppers. Should be the same thing on a bigger scale.

It vibrates a lot though, I keep getting complaints that they can hear the vibrations through the wall.
Anyhow, for the time being I put it on 4 rolls of toilet paper, works great.

Thanks for the help too, i'll be checking out some rubber tiles then.
65-70" Edgelit LED-LCD HDTV or 60-65" Plasma HDTV? I'm trying to figure out what I should go for. My viewing situation is 9', low ambient light with no direct sunlight usually. Weight and thickness are not a real concern for my application.
Plasma Pros
For the TV series I'm looking at they have arguably the best picture quality available on a flatscreen currently, amazing black levels and perfect motion clarity.
LED-LCD Pros
Size, 70" Availability, low power consumption and thin form factor. Really supurb 3D performance.
Opinions? I'm leaning towards the Plasmas.
when I'm playing games on my laptop, they keep slowing down every ten seconds. While I'm playing, it goes from 60 FPS to 25 FPS to 60 FPS again, every few seconds. I can't tell what's causing it to do this, I'm plugged into a power cord, My computer can definitely handle this game, and I can't tell what program might be causing it do this.

Do you have V-Sync on? Sometimes it causes this, try disabling it if you have it on and see if that helps.
If I put a E5700 in a i945 mobo, would it work or will it explode?

I always have it disabled unless I'm getting some wicked screen tearing. I'll make sure though.
It will work.

If i sell my 2 old laptops and old phone i should have around 500.
Is there a way to make controller button presses prevent the screen from turning off?

you could get a 680
but that's childish to drop half a grand on a computer part for only entertainment purposes
get the 660ti
So my computer keeps playing the "something has been disconnected beep-boop" noise every now and then. I know I can just mute it through the mixer, but it forces the computers focus off of whatever it is focusing on.
It's annoying because it just caused three of my deaths in a Dota 2 match, and I got forced out of a mann vs machine match right before that because it was unplayable with the *beep-boop* "your game is now minimized" "ok let me just open that back u-" *BOOP-BEEP NO YOU'RE NOT*
I've tried several fixes that I found on google, and I thought they worked each time. Then the night after they continue and I just can't keep finding more when my deepest knowledge of the noise is that it goes boop-beep then beep-boop and that it is the most annoying thing this computer has ever done.
My question is this; how do I stop the beeping once and for all?
I just bought BF3 a few days ago (Late I know, but I still play BC2), and my i7 920 has been hitting temps of 90 degrees. I don't think it should be that hot. Should I be worried, and what can I do?

Rather dangerous temperatures for a CPU. If you're still using the stock cooler you could purchase an aftermarket one.
The Hyper 212 Plus or Evo(newer model, like $5 more) are two good choices that are ~$30, just make sure you check and see if it'll fit in your case as they are tall.

I'm using an aftermarket cooler. I know I have generic thermal paste on it, I can definitely get some Arctic Silver if that is the solution, and now that I think about it, ill grab that tomorrow. It shouldn't be dust because I clean my PC around once a week.
I know this sounds stupid, but make sure it's mounted properly. What kind of mounting clips does it use?

Not sure what kind of mounting clips. Would a link to the cooler help any? It is mounted properly.
Is this laptop able to run Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at a playable framerate? I don't care if I have to turn settings down.
CPU: AMD A4-3300M APU 1.9Ghz running at 2.1Ghz
Video: AMD Radeon HD 6480G
RAM: 4GB
Looks overclocked if it's idling at 50

It doesn't seem to happen when I hook it up to a different outlet. That must've been it.
Remove your broken device/hub
There are no broken devices or hubs though. I tested all of the hubs, and the only device attached is my mouse. Could it be a low/defective battery?
Battery? Are you using a wireless mouse or something? What you are describing sounds like defective cabling.
Looks overclocked if it's idling at 50
I don't remember ever overclocking it, because I don't have much knowledge about that and wouldn't want to damage it.
It would be okay.
Yup just tried it. Bought the game on Steam and played the beta just now. Runs perfectly with most settings turned up. :)
