I tried a lot of stuff. New codecs, enabling audio, of course the player isn't muted, checking other audio devices in preferences. Go fuck yourself Vegas, all I wanted was to put some audio ontop of a timelapse.
What the shit. Windows update keeps saying I need to update (even though I've downloaded the same fucking shit about 3 times now). wat do?
Did you restart?
So I have a Coonix 600 watt PSU. It sounds like an off-brand thing that needs replacing. Suggestions?
Likely to be an IED. [editline]22nd August 2012[/editline]
What the shit. Windows update keeps saying I need to update (even though I've downloaded the same fucking shit about 3 times now). wat do?
Restart.
Does anyone lese here have LC Power? They are these really cheap PSUs that are surprisingly long lived (however not very efficient or powerful)
Cheap PSU's are always bad. I guarantee that it will murder your components.
That's bullshit.
Not really
Google the update code. [editline]22nd August 2012[/editline] Though I doubt that it's a problem with the update since I haven't heard anything about one and all my updates have been fine.
Is Fraps still the go to software for screen capture on games?
I need a good hard case for my nexus 7 so that I can take it to school in my bag, any suggestions?
Is Fraps still the go to software for screen capture on games?
It works, but there are better ones like dxtory.
DXTory using the x264 codec seems to work well. Any faster codecs people could recommend? [editline]22nd August 2012[/editline] I love me some codecs
You could, but it would run at unplayable framerates.
Why? Once the assets are loaded into memory, you don't need to get more data from storage until you need to load more assets (e.g. a map change). The frame rate shouldn't be affected. However, loading times would more likely be affected, since most readers can't handle data as quickly as it could be read from an HDD or SSD drive.
Which of these is the best? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835345021 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103060 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835146014 Kinda leaning towards the NZXT as I think has the best airflow of the three at 1200 RPM. I have a 20% off coupon for all case fans. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] The bitfenix is probably a lot more quiet, though. Decisions are hard.
I have a few of Bitfenix's fans, they are very very quiet but sadly they push little to no air. Although, compared to other fans with LEDs they aren't super crazy bright. It's like a faint glow.
I think I'll just go for the NZXT in that case. If it's not what I want then oh well the Cooler Master fans are decent enough cheap replacements. Thanks Makol.
Let me know how the NZXT fans are. I've been considering getting some for my other rig to replace the shitty old stock fans.
So I know this is probably a stupid question, but could I use this card http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-Graphics-Architecture-Surround/dp/B00822ZZS0/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1345738604&sr=1-2 With my current motherboard; the ASUS M4A77T. I know the PSU is alright http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A77T/ if not could somebody recommend me a new card with a new motherboard if needed, for £300 cheers
They should work just fine.
Quick question. I really would like to get my files in order, especially music files. I'm kind of anal retentive about having them all in a uniform fashion and following the same file name-scheme as well as having album art for all of them. I use iTunes since I own an iPhone. Is there any sort of library system that I could use that does the work for me that wouldn't interfere with iTunes? I've heard of MediaMonkey before (or something like that). I think I used it, but I recall there being an issue with iTunes. I just hate clutter and I'm trying to get my files organized. Thanks!

what's the cheapest graphics card that will let me max CS:GO at 60fps on 1280x1024?
You could probably do it with a 6770/7750
Okay, I have an ASUS P5Q SE2, Intel 8500, nvidia gtx 550ti. I ran Homeworld 2 earlier and it told me that my GPU was running in PCI mode when it'd be better off in AGP. I've been looking online about this shit and apparently doing so can result in huge performance bottlenecks. According to the page I read, all I need to do is find AGP/GART drivers or some shit (Here's the thread). I have no what this technobabble means but help would be appreciated, I was quite disappointed with the performance of my GPU initially. That said, Homeworld 2 also told me that I had outdated drivers for my gpu. The game lags whenever I zoom in/out or rotate the screen.
Check for new drivers on nVidia's site
Okay, my cousin currently has an old 775 dual core running on an MSI board so old that it actually says Micro Star International on it. He wants an upgrade, but he's on minimum wage and being a student he has money to spend on other, more important things (see: vodka). He's given me a £250 budget to find some parts. He wants to replace his motherboard, processor, power supply and memory. I've picked out an i3 2100, 4gb of corsair xms3, a gigabyte ga-z68ap-d3 and an antec basiq 430w. He has a 9800gtx that he's going to bring over, as well as a case, hard drive and optical drive. Will this be a decent rig? For him? He isn't expecting to play crysis at 1600p, but it should be enough for some light gaming.

I was able to manage 60FPS at medium in BF3 with a 9800GT, with a worse CPU.

Hey, I'm wondering which of these extremely similar laptops are better? I need a super quick answer if anybody has one. Acer Travelmate TM8481T vs Acer Aspire TimelineU M5 This will be for University and as much gaming as the specs allow. For exact differences click the link: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006741%2050001146&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=32%7C34-215-364CVF%5E34-215-364CVF-02%23%2C34-215-534CVF%5E34-215-534CVF-02%23
Neither, they're both Acer. [editline]24th August 2012[/editline] $50 cheaper one is better.
