Question:
So I am recording with DXtory and i've set up 2 channels, but for some reason it only records the first one? Help on this please?
Here is what i am doing:

Looking for a laptop under $1000 that I can use for school. Bought one last year and it was terrible, despite 5-star reviews. Battery doesn't last more than 1.5 hours and the screen's viewing angle is noticeably shit.
I'm looking for something capable of running basic programs / suites for at least 3-4 hours without the battery crapping out on me. Programs I'll be using the most are Photoshop CS6, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, iTunes, and Google Chrome. It'd also be a plus if it had nice build quality as well.
Not sure what I'm requesting even exists though.

How do you know it's only recording the first one? It's probably recording both, but your player is only reading the first channel.
Assuming you're using MPC, Go to play>filters><whichever splitter you are using> and it should probably be there
If you're using LAV splitter it should be under that, of course.
Can someone explain to me what Wine (for linux) is?
Can someone explain to me what Wine (for linux) is?
In one sentence: it's a thing that lets Linux run Windows programs.
In far too many sentences:
It's a reimplementation of the basic Windows libraries and a module that allows Linux to run PE (aka .exe) programs. It is not an emulator, as it runs the programs natively on the processor (thus why it only works on x86 Linux), but it accomplishes essentially the same task: making Windows programs work on Linux. There are people who get way too obsessed with proper terminology who will yell at you if you call it an "emulator", but that's *basically* what it is.
As it is a reimplementation from scratch (ie. it has no Windows code), it isn't perfect, some programs run incorrectly or slowly, but that does make it completely legal even if you do not own Windows (and anyone telling you otherwise is either stupid, or is paid by Microsoft).
It does not itself replace any Linux components - the UI still looks like KDE/GNOME/WindowMaker/FVWM/whatever, it doesn't include Windows programs like Internet Explorer - but it does let you run Windows programs fairly well.
Now, there are some interesting things. I know at one point there was an effort to port Wine to Windows, partly because Wine tends to run old (95/98/ME/2000/XP) programs better than Vista/7 itself, but mostly, I think, for shits and giggles. Wine is also part of the basis for ReactOS, a free open-source operating system that aims to *be* Windows.
I got a question, is a AMD FX 8150 x8 ~3.6GHz, truly like, alot faster than a AMD Phenom II X4 ~3.4GHz?

Not for the price:performance ratio, no.
Summed up: Stay where you are for a bit longer then upgrade to an Intel CPU (~i5)

Better for applications that use 8-threads, near equal (a bit lower generally) for games and applications that use >4 threads. For the price it's at it's not a terrible buy anymore especially if you frequently use all 8-threads it can be justifiable.

There are plenty of nice laptops under 1 grand if you don't need it for heavy gaming.
Try one of these or these.
Both are fully capable of what you want. If battery life is a huge concern, get the cheaper one, or consider getting an extended battery.

Anandtech for benchmarks, or google "8150 benchmarks".
Do you think it would be considered illegal to build and sell hackintosh's?
I was interested in making some money on the side and advertising building Hackintosh's for people using legitimate Snow Leopard / Lion distro's, but, obviously, installed onto Intel-based machines. I'd only be selling locally, around campus, and to friends and people I know. I'm in college, and a shit-ton of people want / use Mac's around campus.
It's not like I'd be using an illegal copy of their distro, so I'm just curious.

It's kind of like Jailbreaking in that Apple would like for it to be illegal, but since you're using legit copies of Mac OS, it's highly unlikely they'd ever take any sort of action against you. You'll be fine selling it to friends and colleagues, and even ebay.

I was poking around on Google about it. It seems as though it violates Apple's EULA. Not like they'd give enough of a shit to take me to court. However, I can just see some die-hard Apple fanboy either purchase one or ask how the person I built it for got it and then try and have Apple press charges.
I'll probably keep it off eBay. However, I might sell to acquaintances and the like.
Where can I go to download a legal version of XP Pro? I already have a legitimate key for the IBM R50e I'm going to fix.
As long as you have a key you can download it from where ever you can.

Does anyone know how to convert a *.webm file to a animated *.png file?
Quick question. Can anyone recommend a simple program for exploring or unpacking a DLL file?
Does anyone know of a onlive sort of client, but for private use between 2 computers?
Alright so I'm getting a motherboard soon and I need to know what kind of ram to get for it. I know any DDR3 will work but I love aesthetics.
Im getting this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131820
And I'm tied between the looks of these 2 sets of ram
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233255
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233196
What RAM do you think will go best with this motherboard? Its a $10 diffrence and I know vengeance is overpriced but it just looks so damn good!
Also should I get the white corsair C70 case or the black?
white http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139014
black http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139013

I've never heard of anyone concerned with aesthetics on a stick of RAM.
I like things to match.
