Building a PC. Should I go for this (~170$) or this one (~300$)? Is there a big difference and if there is, is it worth the extra cost?

They aren't too expensive.

Just ask around here and there and compare spec sheets
Also, you have a 635M(?) by the looks of it. That's a laptop GPU, and those are always significantly weaker than their desktop versions.
Canyourunit is literally a piece of garbage, don't trust it. Just ask around here and there and compare spec sheets
ahh, thanks!
Quick question, is a Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.D good? Planning on swapping my F3 since its dying too quickly and I might RMA it and have 2 drives.
I don't think Deskstar HDD's have a very good reputation e.g the Deathstar nickname
Get a WD.
Fair enough, getting the Caviar Black.
I got a question. The cable modem I have is a Toshiba PCX2200, and it's from 2001. If I were to buy a new modem, would I have a increase in my speed at all? Because I get like and average speed of 1.0 mbs but my friend who live just a few miles away and has the same ISP (Package and everything) gets like 2.0 mbs. I have like zero knowledge in modems.
If it's been in use since 2001 I really would not be surprised.
So yes or no. Your post didn't answer the question so well. Can you guys recommend a decent calculator that I can create programs with in-class? right now I have a TI-84 and it's very nice, but I'm wondering if there's something better that loads graphics properly or something like that.
I need some help so here's my problem: I have my old 300GB HDD that has my Windows 7 install on it and some software/files (images, some music, whatever is in My Documents, etc.), and my 1TB HDD for all my games and such. At first I had W7 on a 60GB SSD which died, so I had to take out my old 300GB HDD and make a new install on it since I already had my 1TB HDD in use (I couldn't make a W7 install to keep everything together). Now Windows 8 is coming up and I'm looking to start cleaning up so my computer isn't an assortment of software and file folders I don't use as much anymore. It'd be nice if I could make a new W7 install on my 1TB but I don't want to wipe it and lose my files since I don't have anywhere else to put them. What would you guys recommend be the best way to go about saving select folders/files I want to keep so I can then put them back on when I make a new W7 install on the HDD they're currently on? I don't want to upgrade to W8 on my current 300GB HDD since it's slow and I have uneeded files occupying it (it's too spread out for me to want to bother with it, especially since I'll be busy with school now). Would one of those Western Digital external drives be my best solution, so I can move the files I want to keep onto it, then move them back once I've made a fresh W7 install on my better drive?
Thanks! I might still look into an $80 500GB external (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178099 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822211025) to keep a backup of some things. I still have some deleting to do to get rid of some clutter but this helps a lot. I just hope there aren't too many conflicts since I've set my W7 HDD to recognize my 1TB as the default location for installing certain software in Program Files.
Why aren't RC[-1] RC[-3] valid cell references?
Does anyone know of a good, free proxy client for Mac? [sp]HideMyAss is not an acceptable answer.[/sp]
For what kind of proxy? SOCKS5?
If he's talking about "client" he means VPN...sine SOCKS5 is in browser. Try HotSpotShield.
'Fraid my terminology is a tad rusty, so I'll put it this way; My new school is blocking Steam. (Not the website, but I can't log into Steam on my own laptop) and I want to circumvent the block. This is why HMA won't do the trick, it needs to be system-wide, not just a browser. I already tried HotSpot Shield, but with no luck (Either because it sucks or because I'm too dainbramaged to make it do what I want it to). EDIT: HotSpot Shield did the trick, yay. Ads are kind of annoying, but what the hell, it's not like I'll be using it all the time.
Would rooting my Razr Maxx delete all my stuff? I've never done any research on rooting.
Would rooting my Razr Maxx delete all my stuff? I've never done any research on rooting.
Normally yes, which is why a lot of tutorials online recommend you back up your files. I've been bookmarking a few pages so I can root my Galaxy Nexus but I haven't done it yet.
Would rooting my Razr Maxx delete all my stuff? I've never done any research on rooting.
No. It doesn't. I have the Razr and it's the exact same thing (firmware and all) minus the battery. You can add me on Steam and ask me any questions about ROMs and blah blah
I checked out the resource monitor and noticed that my network is apparently averaging around 10 Mbps. Yet while downloading on steam i seem to average around 500 kbps. It shows that my antivirus (Kaspersky) is downloading/uploading the same amount. Can i reduce how much it uses/should i get another antivirus? e: seems to have completely disappeared, although still getting 300kbps

It defaults to quite a slow connection iirc.
