My phone has it's own pocket (front right), and nothing else EVER goes in there.
I am looking for a new boot drive since every other hard drive has died on me in the past 18 months. I am considering going to SSD. Is the Samsung 830 SSD a good option or is there something decent at a cheaper price. If you can, link to Amazon.co.uk products since I am Ireland. I am currently running on a 500GB 2.5" laptop drive and it's dying on me. Thanks in advance!

Use it as a boot drive.

All my data is on a 1TB hard drive already, so the SSD would only be used as a boot drive. Thanks for linking the OCZ drive. I will have a look at that later :-)
I have a process stuck on WS2008 and I can't shut it down even with tskill from an elevated command prompt (says "Access denied"). I wouldn't want to restart the machine. Suggestions?

Whats a good laptop cooler for around $20, my mom had this before but the USB cord was cheap and broke off http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834997730 I was looking at this but I want some opinions first http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834992853 [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] Its a 15 inch HP Pavillion DV5, so it has those heat issues.
I bought a Gigbyte Z68AP-D3 and it won't recognize either USB or PS/2 keyboard on startup, so i can't select boot menu and launch my windows installation CD from my drive what gives it's frustrating, I have an entire PC that won't launch :l [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] Oh and when the PC is off the USB provides power, so my mouse lights up what's going on

Unplug the hard drive(s), leaving only the CD, try booting off that and see if your keyboard works at the OS level. I assume you have tested the keyboards in other computers, to rule hardware failure out (it's unlikely that two keyboards fail, but who knows). Also, is there by any chance an "office keys" button on one (or both) of those keyboards? I have a keyboard where all the function keys are initially bound to various MS Office commands (save, open, etc.), and you have to press a certain button to disable that and use them as actual F keys. Since the key to enter BIOS is *often* an F key, that could be the problem.
the ps/2 keyboard works, its my main keyboard and yeah I've tried everything :(
Oh and when the PC is off the USB provides power, so my mouse lights up what's going on
That's normal The fact that it's not working when the actual PC is off isn't.
Is there a way to see what programs I've installed since a specific date (I.E. last wednesday?) I think something I downloaded might be what's causing some problems I've been having.

You can also get there via Control Panel->Programs and Features.
Well, shit. Is there any possibility, even remotely, that Notepad ++ or a JAVA update could cause STALKER: shadow of chernobyl and Tribes Ascend to bluescreen my laptop? It only happens with those two games, nothing else has caused a bluescreen, and Notepad ++ is the only thing I've installed since downloading those two games.
Take it apart, clear all the dust, check the wires while you're in there, put it back together, see if it keeps up
It's a laptop, and I don't really want to risk voiding the warranty since I just got it a few weeks ago.

Driver update, perhaps? Malware?

Nice, I'll definitely be suggesting this to my mother.
What process is it?
Srcds.exe, i.e. the dedicated server software for Source. It's a TF2 server that got stuck.
Who here thinks it was a bad idea to forgo the Toshiba and just grab an HP Envy 6 Sleekbook? Weighed the pros and cons and decided on one, and I'm not looking back. realized that I don't have any use for a disc drive whatsoever (The only thing I use the one in my main rig for is installing older software or burning CDs, and I'm more than happy to keep that operation at home). I figured that a 16in screen, even at the rather low resolution I have to work with, should be plenty to navigate Adobe Illustrator for short periods of time. After that was all sorted, it just came down to portability, and the HP won by quite a bit. Definitely helped that I only had to travel a few miles to buy the HP in-store, as opposed to 70+ miles for the Toshiba. It was actually pretty cheap compared to the Toshiba, but it's definitely less bang. Not sure if the bang/buck ratio is comparable to the Toshiba mentioned previously, but oh well. [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] Ended up at $550 after a mail-in rebate that I'm sure I'll have to fight over, but meh. It'll do its job and do it well, so I'm happy. probably won't age well, but what OEM computer does these days?
did HP ever fix those damn heat issues?
Never came across any heat issues in the Envy series from what I read through, but the trackpad issue I can confirm is fixed for the Slim series. I'll push the hardware a bit on here in a bit and report back some temps if you're curious. Currently it's idling at 45 on the CPU and 46 on the GPU. [editline]edit[/editline] Well, after a bit of video stitching, audio tweaking, and running through Portal 2 on medium-high settings, the CPU temperature peaked at 60 and the GPU at 57. I'd say it handled pretty well, especially considering it didn't have the best ventilation since it was on a flat surface and it hasn't any dedicated side-mounted exhaust. If I wasn't clear, I have the less powerful AMD A6 variant. The store I picked this up from had an Envy 14 with an i5 and it definitely felt a bit snappier, but it was a bit more expensive and the performance difference wasn't nearly noticeable enough on the demo units to warrant the extra money, especially considering the smaller screen and extra battery drain.
does anybody have any ideas? I'm really pissed off because my parts arrived just in time for the weekend and now it's just sitting on my desk, my guess is the PSU doesn't know when to provide power to the USB and PS2 because when it's off they power on?
Is there a Linux wiki or info resource where I can go to learn everything from the basics to advanced uses of Linux?
You could try the Arch Linux wiki.
I'm looking for some quiet 120mm case fans with good airflow as well. I'm currently using these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185059 and want to replace them due to their noise.
