How bad did my friend get ripped off...? He bought an Hp for $700 with a 1 tb HDD at 5900 RPM's, 16 gigs DDR2, Core 2 duo, gt 620 and a 500w no name PSU...

How dated will an i3 2100 and a GTX550 Ti be by december this year? I'm on a $500-$800 budget, and a few hundred is already going torwards parts.

Nothing he can do about the Core 2 Duo, though. That motherboard would need replaced. Sad day.

One of the stickers on my laptop (you know, the processor and graphics cards ones) has been slowly moving towards the edge of my laptop. It's now been rotated 90 degrees and it's 2/3 of the way there, what do. (I'll take a picture in a second)

Buy a slightly better mother board than you need. Considering the planned release of haswell architecture in march-june of 2013, you may be able to get a slick deal on a mid-range i5 towards the end of 2013. In addition, the ivy bridge i3s just came out. Haven't seen any benchmarks yet (not that I have looked to heavily at present), but I'd wager they are going to be good material. How do i know what kind of Power Supply to get?, the specs don't say anything about the wattage.
