Is there a way to get these stickers off my laptop that's quick and doesn't involve buying things?
Peel them off, scrub the leftover with soapy water then rub whatever remainder there is with alcohol. There will probably be discoloring though.
Is there a way to get these stickers off my laptop that's quick and doesn't involve buying things?
I've found that using a razor blade works surprisingly well for those really obnoxious stickers. Just watch that you don't slice yourself. Slide the blade under one edge while holding it between your forefinger and thumb. Rotate your hand to apply force. Do not use your wrists, or any of your upper body because if you slip who knows what interesting things could happen. Generally fingernails are adequate, but every once in a while you run into something held on with an equivalent of gorilla glue. After you get the sticker off and do a second pass to catch some of the glue, alcohol or strong dish soap on a wash cloth/paper towel can be used to polish off the last bit. It helps to use hot water on the fabric beforehand.
Anybody know how to monitor bandwidth usage by device on a home network? It's an AT&T DSL connection, so the router features are a tad limited.
All in one router + modem or discreet units?
It's an all-in-one. Looking for software solutions.
DDWRT or Tomato? I think the newer all in ones can handle it. My mothers house is running with a modem in bridged mode and one of those POS linksys routers flashed with DD-WRT handling the PPPOE. It supports a lot of nice features like basic QoS settings and provides a lot of information about bandwidth usage and related crap if you dig into it. Don't know if you can flash the router, but it's something to look into. Note that it would probably void the warranty if you did this.
Whats a good surge protector for like, 50 bucks?

Is the i3 2120 worse than the i3 2100?
The 2120 is 0.2 ghz faster and otherwise the same processor.
Alright so for my upcoming build I really want a nice cooler that will fit in my case and look slim and sleek, I know how nobody recommends them but I'm highly considering an H100 and some gentle typhoons, My friend is getting 27c on idle and 45 on full load, these temps look really great, and considering the fact I don't want a big ass Noctua in my case and the hyper 212 just doesn't math the aesthetics of my build, I think I am going to get a H100 since its only 100 bucks.

I'll look into both of those and see if the router/modem is compatible. Thanks!
I am wanting to took my wife computer up to our HDtv so we can watch netflix. I was looking at this cable which is a Mini display port to HDMI. From what I have read If I use this and connect through the thunderbolt port I will also have sound. I just want to have sound with one cable not two. if anyone has a better idea let me know. thanks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812816185

Phanteks PH-TC14CS if it fits. It's a big bigger than perhaps you were thinking but it looks damn good imo. The Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Topflow is also pretty sleek looking, if a bit smaller and poorer at cooling.

I have an h60 push/pull and I get 35c idle and 75c load with my 3570k at 4.8.

I want to replace my cpu. I currently have a AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core Processor. I'm looking for something under $100 that's good.
So I recently installed a brand new motherboard and processor into my system, and after that my microphone simply has not wanted to work. I'm using a Roccat Kave 5.1, and when I listen to the microphone, using the options provided by windows, all I can hear is static noise. Everything else is working exactly like it should, so I don't think it's a hardware issue, however it didn't happen right after I got my new motherboard. Anyone who could tell me what's going on?

Chipset, audio, video, etc. [editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
I want to replace my cpu. I currently have a AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core Processor.
Did you install your new motherboard's drivers? Chipset, audio, video, etc.
Yup, I'm pretty sure I managed to install everything.
So i was reading reviews on Newegg about Windows 7 OEM and i usually look at one star first. Alot of them said it was bad compared to Retail Windows because you can't reformat and you can only install it for someone else, not yourself. I also saw a bunch of Linux propaganda and i was curious, can Linux run PC games? I'm sorry if this question starts a flame war.
Windows 7 OEM is a one time install for any computer, its the same as retail but you can only install it once with the same CD key.
Windows 7 OEM is a one time install for any computer, its the same as retail but you can only install it once with the same CD key.
I don't mind that, it's if i have the OEM i want to be able to install it with no problems and be able to use it to reformat or reinstall on my motherboard if needed. I heard that you couldn't use it to reformat and whatnot.
You can use OEM keys as long as you want, but not super frequent.
I also saw a bunch of Linux propaganda and i was curious, can Linux run PC games? I'm sorry if this question starts a flame war.
Short answer: Kind of. Long answer: Right now, the number of native Linux AAA games can be counted on one hand. Indie games have much better support, but even there it's hit-or-miss. Java games and HTML games work fine, at least in theory. Anything open-source has likely been ported to Linux - all the old id titles have been ported, so you've got Doom and Quake. But those are native. Linux does have a way to "emulate" Windows - it isn't, technically speaking, emulation, but I don't think you want to get into it. The emulation is often imperfect, often slower than native, and can be tricky to set up, but it's there, and many games *do* run quite well (particularly Blizzard games - seems Linux users like WoW). But it's still a sub-par experience compared to Windows. In theory, though, Linux could be a good gaming OS. It's lightweight and efficient (hence why 99.7% of supercomputers run Linux), and it's easier to debug things since you've got the source to almost everything. But the actual software support is lacking. Now, Valve is working on this. They're porting over Steam and Source, and are really putting a huge amount of effort into it (it may be related to the rumored Steam console). They've actually gotten L4D2 running faster on Linux than on Windows. But so far, this is all unreleased, and the release date, as always, is "when it's done".

I found this off a website Mb manufacturer name: ASUS A7V8X-LA HP/Compaq name: Kelut-GL6E http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00069442&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=431075
I think you mean one PC at a time right I can and have used my OEM key much more than once
Oh, I thought it was one time use. Oh well, close enough.
Should all be fine.
