I'd say get only Corsair or OCZ for a power supply; I've been burned by an Ultra
Most of Corsair's new ones are CWT though. XFX or SeaSonic themselves are generally safer.
I love the stop error im getting right now "Hey maybe your graphics card is broken. Or maybe it's your ram. Did you check your SSD? Also there's a mainboard in your PC btw!"
Is Newegg's power supply calculator reliable for calculating required PSU wattage? If not then what should i use?
Is Newegg's power supply calculator reliable for calculating required PSU wattage? If not then what should i use?
What parts are you getting and what PSU are you getting?
What parts are you getting and what PSU are you getting?
Mind if I get in on this? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=23809447 600w (removed) because the Newegg calculator is wrong. EDIT: Forgot, I have unlisted parts because I own them already. Combination disc drive (DVD/CD) Windows 7 (Home Premium 64bit) 400gb HDD

How loud is 35 Decibels when my case will be about 3 feet away from me, will I be able to notice that with closed headphones on? And if I'm sleeping at night but I leave my PC on and its about 8 feet away is that going to be more of a distraction then a ceiling fan?
35Decibles is rather loud. You will definitely notice that.
the neo eco is already seasonic OEM
I didn't see the Neo Eco until after I posted that. Hey, there is a picture on a website that I am trying to download, but I can't figure out how. Looking at the page source reveals some sort of javascript element in front of it, and every time I right click it it just gives me the following link:
javascript://
Anybody know of any way around this?
What's faster, 4 SSDs with a sata 2 raid or 2 SSDs with a sata 3 Raid?
Probably 4 SSDs, but that would depend on the SSDs to an extent.
Probably 4 SSDs, but that would depend on the SSDs to an extent.
Assuming they were OCZ Vertex 3s 60GB
This laptop: bit.ly/IodE7C with an added i7 and a 750gb hard drive adding to $930 or this laptop: bit.ly/PCQL2M with added 8gb of RAM adding to $903 I heard the Sager has better build quality but I'm not sure which to get, the MSI model has no reviews. Any opinions be great
probably but I wouldn't bother, TTs PSUs aren't exactly top notch Ultras are terrible, cancel the order if you still have the option
Welp after a night of Playing some BF3 and leaving it to render my frap videos, it has survived. Yesterday afternoon while I was testing it, the graphics card did shutdown while playing ArmA but that only occured once. Bf3 plays Ultra between 30-60 FPS now and I'm getting improvements in my other games aswell. Hell I even got some overclocking done with it and it was still going on strong. Quite frankly I'm happy with the purchase, I should get the Ultra PSU sometime today to see how well that works.

The javascript is for full-screening the pic.

As loud as maybe the sound of air passing through your nose or something.
Well, my ceiling fan runs at 40 Decibels on high and around 30 on medium ( which is the setting I usually have it on ) and its noticeable but it really doesn't bother me I will get some gentle typhoons eventually but I believe that a graphics card and aftermarket CPU cooler are the most important as of now.
How would I go about finding whether or not my Windows Product keys are valid or not?
So uhm I know graphics cards are supposed to buzz and all, but mine is like REALLY audible when working, is that something to worry about?
It's normal for it to happen on new cards, but is usually gone in a week or so. How old is the card
So uhm I know graphics cards are supposed to buzz and all, but mine is like REALLY audible when working, is that something to worry about?
What do you mean by 'buzz'? As in coilwhine, fan speed or vibration?
Let's say a guy incredibly hypothetically wants to mount a laptop motherboard inside a cardboard box. Would using tape be a big no?
Let's say a guy incredibly hypothetically wants to mount a laptop motherboard inside a cardboard box. Would using tape be a big no?
That would undoubtedly be a bad idea you could probably mount it directly to the cardboard if you wanted to :v: Make a case out of lego.
The glue is almost guaranteed to get soft if you do that.
That would undoubtedly be a bad idea you could probably mount it directly to the cardboard if you wanted to :v: Make a case out of lego.
With what? The screws are pretty much wimps. Also I forgot which goes where.
What do you mean by 'buzz'?
coilwhine [editline]20th September 2012[/editline] Exactly one week +-1
I have had it on and off, and my card is still perfectly fine after nearly a year of usage
