OH NO IT LOOKS UNATTRACTIVE
it's a fucking router, who gives a flying fuck what it looks like?
He asked :/
he asked if it looked good, as-in, if it's a good quality router
not if it's aesthetically appealing
p. sure it was a joke guys, calm down and get back to helping people
Alright so I have time warner cable and our router is a cable router so trying to replace it with one that ISNT a piece of shit is practically impossible. Is there anyway I can connect my linksys router to it so I don't have to deal with the shitty Wi-Fi of the current one? ( it has a really bad built in antenna that has broken and it doesn't screw off. )

So basically, I'm looking for the version of Sony Vegas that seemingly everyone in the Source Community uses.
You mean the "acquired" version? :v:
Does this router look good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704038&Tpk=N82E16833704038
Looks good to me. It's compatible with DDWRT, too.
every hour i have to run network troubleshooting on my laptop or disable/re-enable the network adapter to get it to stay connected
i've seen a iphone and an ipad, then the same iphone and an ipod drop wifi and reconnect at the exact same time
and occasionally i have to run network troubleshooting on my desktop
router dying?
[editline]22nd September 2012[/editline]
forgot about the other computer that drops connection
theres just too many differences between them for it to be each device
Alright, I've got time warner cable and I got on of these http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/CGD24G_UM_22May09.pdf its a Modem/Router thing and its a piece of shit, wireless is slow cause the antenna was broken from day 1 and TWC says its our fault, I've got a router from linksys that we used to use when we had AT&T. I can't connect the linksys to this because it flips the fuck out and starts going haywire if I try. So basically I need a cable modem so i can use my linksys router.
I'd like to keep it around $60 but I'm willing to pay up to $90, as long as it provides me with the download and upload speed I'm paying for ( 25 Mbps download, 1 Mbps upload ) then that will be great. How well would something like this work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825122011 or should I spend the extra and get something like this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825124006
edit: Fuck I'm a dumb ass, I forgot there are settings in the wireless portion I have to tweak.
All 660Ms have 2GB GDDR5 VRAM.
I actually just found that in some places, it starts lagging far more often than it should. I dropped aniso down to 4x (from 16x), seemed to make it work fine.
that didn't work. Don't know what it could be.
Fuck my headset, I have the plantronics 780's and they we're working just fine but then they just stopped. I plug them in and I can hear a beep in my headphones which means they are on, but the software wont pop up and the sound is playing through the laptop speakers. They just refuse to be detected.
Yay vertical white lines on my laptop screen
Right. So my DSL modem just melted. Literally melted. I opened it up.
Running on a really archaic one that I happen to have. It's currently hooked into a transformer I used when I was a model train nut in my early teens. Quality setup I have here.
Any good suggestions for a DSL modem? It needs to support ethernet output, and I don't really care what other features it has. I don't need a built in router. I'm going to put it in bridged mode and let my router handle my PPPOE.
EDIT:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825165002 This would seem to do the trick. If anyone has input I'd like to hear it.
Okay last laptop didn't work out as cheap as I thought because I would have to pay a good bit on shipping and then VAT when it arrived.
I found a pretty decently specced laptop online in Ireland just wan't to know what your opinions are on it.

Just want to know if brand wise is it good? Since its a Samsung
Has anyone tried buying from Tigerdirect and have the item shipped to the UK?
My laptop hard drive broke, It was a 500gb WD Scorpio blue.
I wish I could afford an SSD but they are too expensive for how much memory i need.
Im torn between these two
1)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-500GB-Internal-Drive/dp/tech-data/B004LR1RPK/ref=de_a_smtd
2)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Internal-Drive-Compatible-Playstation/dp/B0053YLTBC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1348399533&sr=1-1
So its either more reliable and faster or bigger memory
How can I make my PC go in to super low power usage mode so I can leave it on overnight and not have to worry about extreme power usage?
All it needs to be doing is torrenting, really.
You can't do power saving but at the same time use CPU, HDD and Network Adapters...

I'm sure you can make them use less power than I do when I normally use my computer.

Monitor off, disable GPU in device manager ASSUMING you have integrated to enable it again later, remove stuff like USB chargers etc.

Is there anything bad about this monitor? http://www.ebuyer.com/225851-acer-s243hlabmii-lcd-display-tft-led-backlight-24-et-fs3he-a01
It's a TFT costing £155.
what's a good free program to burn disks?
Freemake is pretty decent.
Also how much benefit would I have if I had two 1 TB WD Caviar black drives in Raid 0 strictly for games? Would I notice a big increase in how fast they boot up and how fast maps switch? And for my photos and shit how exactly does a raid 1 work? Does it just make a copy of each thing in case one drives fail? Does it take a long time to boot up a movie or flip through some photos or music?
[editline]23rd September 2012[/editline]
And do I need a raid controller card for a PCI-E x1 slot or can i just use the one on the ASUS sabertooth z77?
what's a good free program to burn disks?
I use InfraRecorder.

^ Link is broken
^ Link is broken
It's fixed now but the site is sort of slow
Looks fairly good to me now it's loaded.
So is Samsung a good brand? I have been looking around and laptop seems like it will be fairly good for gaming and editing. Only downsides I read is the screen isn't the best for color (Not full HD or something), and some people said it overheats too much when gaming, so bad that you can't play games but then other people said it has been fixed in newer models? Any other better laptops on that site
