Isn't that an option to show the volume on the taskbar?
Yes.
And it's not as obvious as I thought from just that screenshot, but Windows has forced it off (the dropdown box is greyed out). Sound works fine, and I can still put "sndvol" in the Windows Run box and get the big mixer.
It's not doing it right now but why does it do this
I'm thinking of selling off some old parts. These rough prices look right? All will be used, but with no damage.
ATI Radeon X1900 XT (Mac Edition): $20-100
2x Intel Xeon X5150: $10-40 (total)
Core 2 Duo P8400: $20-40
GeForce 9600M GS: $90-100
Asus M50 screen (1280x800): $60-90
the 9600 is worth maybe 30-40, you could probly make a benjamin off of the mac vidcard though, people are dumb
So I am planning on using digital audio output, and the receiving device supports Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS, but I read that the soundcard needs to have it as well or I won't get 5.1 sound. Is this correct or am I reading something wrong? Cause my onboard and my ASUS Xonar both don't seem to have those features.

You will get sound. The receiving device has to be able to use the sound format, your sound card does not. All it has to do is send the data. I think.
You will get sound though, of that I am sure.
Just ordered a AMD 7950, will there be a bottleneck with my x4 955 Black Edition OC to 4Ghz?

The question is if I will get 5.1 sound.

I wouldn't know, sorry.

You're fine, the 955 is still pretty potent when OC'd

I just noticed I wrote 9750 :| I meant 7950...

It's a 9600M. As in, a mobile card. I checked on eBay, people pay pretty ridiculous amounts for a card just because it's MXM.
The problem with the Mac card is that it only works in a Mac Pro. And it's the stock card the original, six-year-old Mac Pro came with. For literally everyone with a Mac Pro, it's either the card they have, or more likely a downgrade. Really only good as a replacement, few people actually gathered bids above $30 or so, although I did see some absurdly high prices for Buy It Nows.
Plus, it doesn't even look like a Mac thing. It looks like a run-of-the-mill 2006-era GPU.
I've been pondering this for awhile and instead of testing it, I wanted to see if any of you guys have an answer for it.
Can I socket both a Radeon HD 7970 ghz with a Radeon HD 5850 without crossfiring them and will they both work if I do this? As in, will they both work as long as I don't use them for joint tasks or physically crossfire them? I was considering placing the Radeon HD 7970ghz in the first PCIEX16 slot and the Radeon HD5850 in the second PCIEX16 slot without the use of a CFX line. For reference, here is the mobo I will be using.

I apologize if this question is hard to comprehend, I am not sure how explain it all that well myself.
I don't see why they wouldn't, although you *will* need two (or more) monitors. Never tried something like that though.
It works without issues, you can even run nVidia and ATI alongside (if the drivers don't explode).
Lightworks if you can get used to it.
Lightworks is a insane install, drivers and shit needed.
Alright so I've got a Linksys E1000 wireless router and the wireless isn't working properly... If I plug my computer directly into the cord I have internet, if I try wireless. It says "Unidentified Network" and I have no internet. What the hell do I do?

Have you configured it?
Yes...
We need a good and cheap laser printer.
What is a good one?

Still need help, I need to have this working before tomorrow.
I can't log into the admin account on my computer.
When I try, it says,
"group policy client service failed logon
access denied"
I can't do system restore either, because there are no backups for some reason

Did you purchase this computer from a store? Group policy means someone else set up your account.

Yeah, but it's not the default admin account. I set that one up myself.
what is a good gaming laptop around the 500-700 dollar range
What is a good replacement for iTunes as a music player?
[del]foobar[/del]
Internet Explorer 6 is a better media player than itunes.
So I should get foobar?
It is hands down the single best music player available for windows. You can get addons that will support absolutely anything, even obscure game codecs. Fully customizable UI, and its relatively lightweight.
Eh its not for me, I'm just not liking it. I'm going to give winamp a try.
[editline]29th September 2012[/editline]
Just tried winamp, I love it. thanks for the suggestion of foobar but its just too simple for me.
There's customization options for literally everything. Don't see how you can say it's simple when you can make it look and do almost anything you want, but OK.
