Just the look of it I mean, its just so damn simple and I just don't like it that much. Winamp is just as simple to use ( so far ) but looks a bit nicer to me. I'm a man who loves performance but I love aesthetics too.

Anything is an improvement over iTunes though, right?
As I said. You can make it look like anything. It's default skin is spartan, and that's deliberate.

Only options I saw was color, I didn't see skins. Just layouts and color. Still, its better than iTunes.
I've been considering getting a Samsung 830 128GB SSD for a while now, but now I found the Corsair Force 3 240GB for around 45$ more (discounted price). Is the Force 3 worth getting? I mean it's twice the size of the Samsung for a rather small price increase.
Anyone know of any FREE video editing software? I need it to do facecam, i tried LightWorks but it just messes up the audio.

Why do you need such a large SSD?

Samsungs drive performs extremely well, and reliability on the 830s is second only to the intel 520 series.

Force 3's are really slow SSDs. If you were to find a GT at that kind of discount it would be worth it. Although, Corsair is also having some reliability problems with their SSDs (not on the same level as OCZ mind you), but they have a failure rate of around 3x that of a Samsung's 830.
It's a matter of preference really, you sacrifice speed and reliability for a larger drive.

Wax?
It was pretty decent last time I used it.
I want to build my family a HTPC for Christmas.
How much do you think I could get one for? Just for watching movies and shit like that, and being able to emulate older games for my younger brother and sister.
Live in Ireland so parts might be a bit more expensive but I want to try keep the price to a minimum here.

Where in ireland do you live?
When I used to live in Dublin I would always just get them shipped to N.Ireland from Scan because it ended up cheaper that way :v:
Also, looked into a raspberry pi? It can emulate older games, and supports full 1080p x264 playback.

Down in Wicklow so an hour or two from Dublin.
What did you do when they got to Northern Ireland? Would they drop them to you or did you have to collect them?
I was thinking of getting a raspberry pi, but I think I would prefer to build one with Windows in mind.
I was on Dabs.ie and it was coming to around 500 for the build I was looking at but that's way too expensive, but I'm not good with PC parts and knowing what I need.

Had to collect them at a relatives place, but iirc they hold stuff like that at a post office for no charge.
Might cost you more this way considering you live in Wicklow, though. So I'd just go with an international service, like dabs.
Overclockers ship to Ireland, so I'd go for that personally.

Thanks man.
It's mainly the actual parts though that I need help with.
What parts could I get to keep the price down? Not sure what mother boards etc to get don't know if you need one of those Micro ones or what.
Any help would be sweet !

Would it do video in video? (AKA Facecam?)
Would it do video in video? (AKA Facecam?)
Honestly I'm not the right person to ask, I don't have a windows installation to test anymore :(
If you only need something quickly you could always try the Premiere trial

You could always get an AMD APU (wait for piledriver, coming out pretty soon and has a whole lot of benefits)
This means no need for a non-integrated GPU.
Depends how small you want the HTPC to be in relation to Motherboard formfactor
Anyone know how to overlay videos in videos (Facecam) with Wax?
NICE! It isnt messing up the sound, all i need is to figure out how to add the facecam.

You can make facecam videos by deleting WAX from your computer.
You dont have to watch the videos you know. I mean, if you dont want to, dont watch them!

Well i THINK i got this wax thing figured out.
Welp. Thanks FlubberNugget.
My Radeon 7850 and PSU was delivered today, thanks a bunch for helping me decide guys. :buddy:
GTX 480 or GTX 560 Ti (1GB Version)?, I might be able to push it with the GTX 480 but i'm not sure.
Edit: Okay, i got almost all of my parts. What would be a good, cheapish power supply for this? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=21149626
I read on the PSU calculator that 550W would run it, so i'm guessing i need something stronger.

Neither, 7850.
Neither, 7850.
Thank you, but i still think i need a better power supply.
Alright, i got around to opening my PC and started replacing the psu when i saw that the rear fan + the cpu fan have 3/4 wires leading to the inside of them soldered in. This is not very good as i don't have a soldering iron/gun. Any ideas? I can take pictures if needed.
